Clarion Hotel Beachfront 905 South Huron Avenue, Mackinaw City, MI 49701

"We stayed here for one night while doing the fall color tour. The room and beds were clean and okay for the money. A little larger than normal. My beef! They claim free breakfast. The hours are between 6 and 9 AM . I got there at 8:30 since I didn't want to get there last minute with everything picked over. The hot food choices were scrambled eggs, ham, and pancakes. Scrambled eggs ham and pancakes were gone . They never refilled the eggs. Had to wait about ten minutes for some pancakes and ham. They had only one 4 slice toaster, and one side didn't work. That left everybody waiting just to get some toast Only cheap white bread and plain bagels, No rye or wheat bread, no muffins. Fruit consisted of a basket of red apples only. No yougert That was the absolute worst breakfast I ever had, plus it was probably about sixty degrees at the breakfast room."

"Rooms were clean and comfortable! We were directly underneath the breakfast room, and didn't hear much of anything above us. Tasty breakfast with hot item options. Pleasant and helpful staff."

"Reading the reviews I was nervous. But after staying here for 3 days I was impressed. Yes it's dirty in some spots, but it is a older hotel and huge. But we loved our room, the view is breathtaking of the lake and seeing the island. The gentleman at the front desk is so helpful. They really had great customer service. Explained any question we had. Very helpful. I give this hotel 5 stars. Their great at what they do. These housekeepers work from morning to night. Their works not easy, and they try their hardest you truly can tell. When we come back for another vacation, we'd gladly stay here again."

"3 days during October, when there's far less people. Pros: walking distance to ferry, balcony on beach which would be wonderful if summer. Quiet rooms as floors are concrete. Comfortable beds. Cons: terrible breakfast for $200 a night! Microwaved small pancake, something that resembled ham, one choice cereal.. corn flakes, one flavor yogurt, bread, hard boiled eggs, apples and watered down orange juice. TV was analog and needed reset every time you used it. Overall things will start falling apart in these rooms if that don't start a little more preventive maintence. Spend the extra 50 bucks if you can afford it for somewhere else, otherwise, still an okay stay."

"I've to say for what they charge here,it's over priced. Stairwells are dirty and dingy. Ice machine looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years. The free breakfast is saucer sized pancakes and ham,toast,coffee and orange juice. No eggs. Staff is friendly. Not a good night sleep for me. Could here the room next to us. I don't recommend this establishment. My opinion."
