"How is this place even open right now? And I feel bad saying this because the people who work there need jobs like the rest of us. But this place was horrible. (Front desk was understanding and nice, but in the end there wasn't much she could do for me or my hungry ovrr tired toddler) Booked online through priceline last minute, emergency stay due to bad weather north on 75. So had no idea till I showed up that the entire building is under construction. Hallways blocked with workers and construction tools etc. Emergency exits blocked, stair ways blocked, railings covered with paper, no ground rooms. No lighting outside, doors blocked by snowed in construction vehicles. Dust everywhere, industrial cleaning smells, loud noises, floor boards missing from room, dirty, run down, smelled bad. But the straw that broke me was the dried blood in the tub. I grabbed my toddler and went to front desk. Ended up getting emotional, because booked through 3rd party I couldn't get a refund. But I'd rather loose 75 dollars than stay in that dump. (And this is coming from someone who used to be homeless) (I ended up at the best Western across town, they are great, worth the few extra bucks)"
"Let's start with the negatives and get them out of the way; the pool has been down all summer and fall from what I can tell. There are some minor improvements that could be made to improve the quality of the rooms. We had room 128, a Jacuzzi tub room for our anniversary. It was a decent room for the price. The bathroom is very cramped, and the door didn't shut all the way (wood swells, it needs to be replaced) but we didn't care. The breakfast was good, everything was clean... well, mostly. Housekeeping needs to pay just a LITTLE more attention to details like the toilet seat, which did not appear to be cleaned and sanitized so I just used some Lysol wipes. I didn't feel unsafe, we enjoyed our stay, we didn't mind the minor issues. $180 for 2 nights for a decent King Jacuzzi room I found to be fair price. The bed was very comfortable, as well as the bedding. I liked the multi-layer bedding. Sheets, a clearly washable blanket, then a patterned fabric cover sheet. So you know they all get washed. The fridge and microwave were nice and clean and in working order. I have no complaints beyond the few small issues, we enjoyed our stay. It was a relaxed atmosphere."
"Hands down the absolute worst experience with a Choice Hotel I've ever had. No outside signage or lighting so it was hard to find and the parking lot lighting was dangerously absent. Broken security locks on the outside doors. Stains all over the room from the carpet to the bed to the chair. Found a bug on the pillow and blood mark on the bedding. Bathroom was very dirty and smelled of urine. Strange people seemingly intoxicated or under the influence of something wandering about the hallways. The only good thing here was a nice front desk girl who really couldn't do anything to help my issues except offer me another room in this hotel or she wpuldve helped me book another room in town at a hotel managed by the same people. My daughter and I left and stay else where. I did get one night of my two night reservation refunded but I never spent a night there at all and feel I should have been fully refunded as the hotel was unhealthy and unsafe to stay in. I will look at all Choice Hotels differently in the future."
"This was the worst experience. They price gouge,or toilet didn't run, our window to the room was broken and glued shut, the smoke alarm was broken and continued to go off. One night the cost was 79, the next 134, and to stay another night would have been 160 dollars. They had multiple rooms open but no staff to take care of anything. More than highly disappointed."
"The lady at the front desk was very nice. The hotel was super dirty, though. Lighting wasn’t great outside, no security with the side doors. Many people up at 230am waking around. One room by the pool had their window open with no screen between. Reeked of weed and musty. When we got to our room, the door was propped open, one of the beds had not been made and was just a mess. The toilet didn’t flush. They did give us a refund for the rooms, no issue (as of yet). Ended up staying at the holiday inn down the road. Much, much nicer for a little more money."
