Reviews of Sleight's Wildwood Resort
"Great cabins, beautiful location. They have a great beach. Private boat launch with piers to dock your boat. Owners are very kind and run a good business. Definitely going back."
"Very nice rustic cabins with nice windows with lake views. Stone fire pits with screens easy for sausage or marinated meet. The owner are nice couple and always spend some time to talk to you. We make reservations for next year."
"My family has been coming to Sleight’s Wildwood since 1973, when we were a new family of 2. Now my wife, kids and grandkids all enjoy visiting with me. Dan, Anya and Danny are friendly hosts, and they have a nice, sandy, gradual sloping beach area. The resort is a mix of older and more modern cabins, so if you are selective about your cabin you should look at the gallery and ask questions to ensure the best match for you. Fishing is a big part of our days, and the grandkids have caught walleye, bass and musky."
"This review is a request for bailing out Ron Sleight which might be a family member, relative or at least a community member in the vicinity of Sleight's Wildwood Resort. The reason I'm reaching out to you via this medium is because he has stopped communicating for more than a year. Ron Sleight currently owes more than $20K and based on the past 1.5 year trend I have no evidence he has any serious plan to pay what he owes. So far he's proven to be unreliable and untrustworthy. How would you feel you trust someone based on his professional credential and provide him with an unsecured loan and later on he ends not paying in full and doesn't even answer your legitimate requests for update. Please, if you can reach out to him, ask him to pay what he owes."
"Sleight's is a wonderful place to stay. It's on a beautiful lake and our cabin had lighted steps (same steps for 2 neighboring cabins) directly down to a boat dock for ~4 boats. We fished from the dock, watched birds (ducks, bald eagles, kingfishers, etc.) and had many Leinenkugels. There is a beach for those staying at the resort just past the office with a boat launch and a green lawn leading down to a sandy beach (walking distance from the whole resort). Danny Sleight was really accommodating, my father was in a different cabin but needed a bedside plug for his breathing machine. Danny quickly (and cheerfully) moved my parents to the cabin just next door. They had kayaks for us to use down by the beach and will rent you a little outboard for just a few bucks a day. We stayed in the Pocahontas cabin and it was great. 2 bedrooms, 3 beds and a roll-away. Tons of windows made a great cross-breeze through the cabin. There are wood sheds for each cabin with a supply of wood for the stoves inside. We had a fire one night as it was a bit chilly outside but we were cozy in the cabin. The cabin was tidy and comfortable, we'll certainly be coming back. We also hired Russell Sleight, Danny's brother, as a fishing guide (>40 years guiding the area). It was an incredible trip. We decided to fish for bass with my daughters (9 & 5) since they're fun and exciting fish. Within 5 minutes of getting the boat in the water everyone had hooked up with a ~2.5lb largemouth (literally, you can see the truck/trailer in one of the pics). We stopped counting bass at 60 and never started counting blue gills. Russell was wonderful, patient and instructive with the kids. Russell did an old-fashioned 'shore lunch' where he did a fish fry over an open fire. It was incredible. If you need a hunting/fishing guide, check with the Wildwood office to see if you can lock Russell in. In addition to your food, drinks, toiletries be sure to bring bath towels, beach towels, paper towels, dish soap, dish sponges, hand soap, seasonings (salt, pepper, etc.), olive oil. The cabin had a standard sized fridge, nice shower, dishes, glasses, dish rack, microwave, nice oven, bottle openers, toilet paper, etc."
