Reviews of Pointe La Barbe Inn Mackinac Cabins
"I came up in august 2014 to work. Great people, very polite, and I have stayed here before hand. Even then, the people were polite, asked if my friend and I needed anything cleaning wise, these people are so nice! The rooms are well put together and even though they are old, they try so hard to make sure everything works so that customers enjoy their stay. The prices are fair and they run the place like a 5 star hotel. Met a lot of different people working here and would love at anytime in the summer to come back to them."
"We really enjoyed our stay here! The cabins were clean and fresh towels were provided daily. We enjoyed staying in a cabin that was so close to all of the attractions. We had a view of Lake Michigan and sunsets. We used the fire pit and picnic area daily. The owners were beyond friendly and helpful. We needed help finding things and they were very knowledgeable about the area. We stayed in a cabin that sleeps 2 but were actually able to sleep 2 adults and 3 kids using an air mattress and pack n play. We will definitely be back!"
"We were trying to book a last-minute cabin near Mackinac Bridge for a holiday weekend. Most places nearby were either too expensive or booked already. Pointe La Barbe Inn didn't have any cabins, but when I called the owner he offered a room at the Inn for our 5 people, offered us two queen beds and a rollaway which saved us a lot of $$$. When we arrived, things were quiet and he then offered us two rooms - for the price of one! We found the rooms clean, nice, nothing fancy but quite large. Everything worked just fine - air conditioners, heat, plenty of hot water for showers. Older TVs and very limited in amenities (the owner was very honest about that) but value for the money - without a doubt! We had a lovely 2-day stay."
"We love places which allow us to huddle in and be a family (there are 4 of us). Pointe La Barbe Inn was it and more. The cabin we stayed in was a typical early 20th century log cabin with a full size bed for Mom and Dad and bunk beds for the kids in their own room with modern "necessities" like cable and wifi (important when Mom's job is online). I really wanted to start a fire in the fire pit in back but we didn't get a chance after we arrived, unpacked, and drove around St. Ignace a bit (having pasties for dinner, of course!). After the first night my particularly particular 11 year-old daughter said she *loved* this place and wanted to stay longer. It was a great place to start our day trip to Chapel Falls (where Mom & Dad got married) and the Soo (where Dad went to college) and come back to when the storms started up. The kids went to the office to relive Mom's slipping while hiking to the falls and came back with 3 extra pillows to elevate my damaged knee and a bag of ice to put on top of it. If you are not able to let go of things like plush carpets, 1000 thread count sheets, and other luxury amenities, don't book a cabin at Pointe La Barbe; I've stayed in those places and if it's what you must have, this isn't your place. If you can see the vintage wiring, curling and stained linoleum bathroom floor, and slight gaps in the logs as part of the family cabin adventure they are, then book now! Stay an extra night so you can have a fire."
"This is my 6th time up at the Point La Barbe Inn. Never had a problem with anything. The owners are very nice and helpful. The rooms are comfee, clean, and the Price is right. So much to do up here and a Great place to stay after a long day visiting around the U.P.! Will come back every year til I can't drive it. Come and check it out, You won't stay anywhere else!"
