Reviews of Presque Isle Campground
"My husband and I stayed in one of the cabins for 5 nights. It was peaceful and quiet. We had everything we needed. There was just the Queen sized bed (and a futon) but the bed was comfortable. We had a small kitchen with all the basic things needed, and the cabin was clean and tidy. The fishing was good and it is a beautiful lake. Perfect place to get away for some relaxation."
"Presque Isle Campground is a beautiful, quiet, campground with great views of the lake and trees. It has spacious, shady, campsites with water and electric hookups. A dump station is also available. It also has a nice area for launching boats. There is a showerhouse with powerful, hot water. The campground hosts keep the campgrounds clean and looking beautiful! The owners were on site and I found them to be gracious, friendly and knowledgeable about the area and fishing areas. There are kayaks available to rent at a reasonable price. Not only are there tent sites available, but there are campers/small house rentals and campsites for small and large campers. I highly recommend this campground."
"The campground is very secluded & quiet, which we love. The fact that you need an access code to get into the locked gate is another plus. Our site was large & had lots of trees. The lake was beautiful & clear & my husband enjoyed fishing. I know some people said they didn't like that you had to dispose of your garbage several miles away, but we didn't find that to be such an inconvenience. The camp hosts were very helpful & the owners were very friendly. The only "negative" I can say is that the beach area was somewhat disappointing. It would have been nice to have a larger sandy area to place chairs, etc. Overall we are very happy & are planning to come back again next year for an extended stay."
"Super nice campground!! Loved that the campground itself is gated, which provided an added sense of security. We enjoyed swimming in the water at the beach and found the staff incredibly friendly. The showers were clean and had hot water. The location was great at we enjoyed visiting local bars. Highly recommend visiting!"
"Very beautiful location on a gorgeous lake. Peaceful area and respectful campers. Felt everything was very "corporate". No personal touch. Before reserving our campsite, I called and left a message for someone to call me back as I had some questions. Additionally, I emailed a couple times and no one responded to me that way either. Not sure why you provide a phone number and email address if you aren't going to respond. Didn't appreciate having to pay an extra $25 to LOCK in the site I picked and once paid, I was sent a contract which stated we also needed to pay $5 cash to the camp host upon arrival for a parking pass. Now $5 certainly doesn't break me but I think this information should be provided up front, before booking. Other than providing us with a parking pass, I'm not sure what the responsibilities of camp hosts were supposed to be. If cleaning the bathrooms is one responsibility, this wasn't happening. The bathrooms/showers were dirty and the water in the shower was slow to drain so one had to stand in backup water while showering. While we had fun with our friends while there, we would not return for the reasons stated above."
