Reviews of Motor City Knights Lacrosse
"Motor City Knights run a fun program while focused on instruction and remaining competitive. Practice is well managed and every player is involved. Coaches are knowledgeable and are working to grow the program and the sport. My son started at 8 yrs old having barely picked up a stick and now at 10 yrs old he can really play. Travel for games is local and accessible for families. Cost is incredibly reasonable considering time put in by the coaches, amount of games and professionalism of the program. It is a dedicated season though. Don’t think your son/daughter can play travel soccer/baseball in the spring and also play lacrosse during the same season. Practice is 3X a week plus most games are on Saturdays. Great program from both beginners and experienced players."
"My son played with this organization for three plus years but he has decided to hang up his stick. He was a decent player and he used to like the sport before getting the coach for the 6th/7th group. If you are looking for a developmental team, this is not the team to go with. This coach runs it like a travel program where only certain kids get playing time. (Everybody plays but you might only see a couple of minutes a half). If they tell you that it is OK to play another sport, don’t fall for it. Many of us parents fell for it. With all that said, I do believe that they are really trying to build a competitive program and I am good with that. Just don’t masquerade as a “house” program if the intention is to run it like a travel program. I personally did not like 6th/7th grade coach and neither did my son, but the but the other coaches were great. I am sad that my son will not be playing anymore because of last year’s experience. Make sure to do your research on this organization (especially if your child is older)."
"Motor City Knights knows how to properly prepare and develop kids to play lacrosse and how to become respectful human beings while off the field. The wide variety of experience from the coaches provide ample opportunities for kids to grow and become great at a sport we all love to play. Motor City provided me with the opportunity to take my playing career to the next level and has always been there to support me and the surrounding communities. Playing for the Motor City Knights will be your kid’s best decision of their young life."
"I started playing for Motor City lacrosse when I was going into 8th Grade. I played for them for 4 years after that and have nothing but great things to say about this program. Jason Benoit and his staff not only inspire young athletes to be great at lacrosse, but also be great off the field as well. Everything from the game of lacrosse, respect, positive attitude, winning, losing, religion, and overall just being a great person. This program has help me improve into a high school record holder, a college lacrosse athlete, and now a high school head coach. If you want coaches that care about you and your well being, will elevate you to your potential, and will never think as you as “just a number” Motor city knights is the place to be. I’ve made some life long friends and family from this organization. They shaped me into the man I am today and I would recommend any athlete, parent, or coach to be involved in their organization. Great community and great people."
"This is a great program to be a part of. Coaches with lots of lacrosse experience, and experience working with kids. Kids of all ability and experience can find a home here to improve their skills and be part of a safe, encouraging environment that is committed to helping kids become a respected member of a team, a better lacrosse player, and better prepared to advance their game to the next level."
