"Attended Dorsey College in Madison heights 2021 for their Electrical Technician program. If I could rewind time and not waste my money with this school I would!! They genuinely don’t care about your academic success, but care more about getting that money from you. My teacher legitimately sat around and just chatted and joked with the class. We left 3/4 hours early every day even though it’s suppose to be a 5 hour course every day. They only had one teacher that was ONLY on his 3rd year of being electrical APPRENTICE!! How come they have a person with barely any experience be teaching a class. The other teachers they had came and go quickly. One lasted about two weeks before quitting and taught us nothing. One day we showed up to school and sat outside the classroom door for an hour because he never showed up and no one informed us. A kid had a seizure in the school parking lot and got rushed to the ER. They told him to come to the class the next day or he flunks the class and had to wait half a year before being able to take the class again because they have no teachers available to teach that class at the time. He attended the class still and only person that showed up was him and the teacher. They sat around and just chatted about random stuff. Teacher said he shouldn’t of had to come in or the student because there wasn’t a reason to have class that day. HUGE waste of money. !!!! I mean it, please don’t waste your time or your money going here. On the job training for electrical is way better and usually pays for your schooling!!!!!. This schools a joke."
"If u would leave a negative star I would. Dorsey has been a pain in my behind from the moment I signed them contracts giving them my money out of pocket. I did the PN program graduated and walked across the stage yet I am still not allowed to take my NCLEX. I have been done with this school a year and a half and in debt still with this school. I’m not paying them a penny until I get my ATT. They really need to be such down. Unprofessional, never can get a hold of anyone, money hungry institution…."
"If I could leave 0 stars I would. I graduated in 2019 with my LPN and had a small balance left over when I left. 2020 I fell chronically ill wasnt able to work and couldn’t continue to make the payments. Fast forward to 2023, I paid my entire balance off of $1101 only to find out my account still had a hold on my transcripts. I contacted the accounts payable representative Michelle Depofe only for her to tell me that I still had to wait for her to release the hold on my transcripts and that I knew about this balance 2 years ago and that I should’ve paid a long time ago, not knowing I had been sick for 2 years straight and was still trying to recovery financially. Michele then proceeded to hang up on me when I asked if we could expedite the process of releasing the hold from my transcripts. Michele was very insensitive towards me which is pretty ridiculous saying that I had already paid $30,000 to the school for my LPN program."
"Make sure you decide what you want to be before you go and spend time and money in the end many students decide to leave earlier for many reasons. The good thing you will learn a lot of things their the bad thing you can’t transfer any of your credits. It’s just a certificate"
"I would put zero stars the best way to describe this “school” is that 1. it’s a business they don’t care about actual education they just want their money. 2. Miscommunication the actual school and teachers have little to no communication therefore it sets off relationships with your teachers because you think it’s them when it really just Dorsey. 3. Disorganized because of the miscommunication they are a complete mess when it comes to the actual process of graduating you have no idea what’s going on until very last minute. My whole program was complete stress and all I can say is I’m glad it’s over and I can say I got the education but it was so overwhelming and stressful. I 10/10 would not recommend Dorsey college for estheticians. The teacher however I would recommend, though it was stressful ms.Sonya was there every step and assured me that I would make it to the end. I couldn’t have asked for a better teacher and guidance through such a stressful program simply due to the actual schools doings. Thank you to ms.Sonya for making the program a bit more of an ease, and always supporting and encouraging your students."
