"Waited to see Dr LaMacchia 1:45 hours past my appt time only to have him spend 5 minutes in the room with me. No apology or respect for my time at all; he acted like it was the norm. In the meantime, his nurse determined I needed cervical spine X-rays, even though my pain was in my thoracic spine. I’ll find another doctor for continuity of care."

"I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. LaMacchia to anybody I know. After a long period of low back pain I woke up one day and my right leg was numb all the way down to my toes. In addition to the numbness I had pain and walked with a limp. After seeing my primary care doctor and trying physical therapy that did nothing he gave me a referral to a neurosurgeon and an orthopedic surgeon Both doctors recommended the same course of treatment for me, but I chose Dr. LaMacchia, because I felt the most comfortable with him. He took the time to thoroughly explain everything about the surgery, recovery, and risks. He pulled my x-rays and mri up in the room and showed me on the films what my issues were and how he would go about fixing them. Dr. LaMacchia was also able to schedule my surgery my surgery within a few weeks. This was important to me, because I was getting married in 5 months. He assured me I had plenty of time to recover before then. My surgery was a success and within days the feeling started to return to my leg. The nerve pain did actually increase for a period of time after the surgery, but they assured me this was normal and to just give it time and do my physical therapy. His assistant Libby is also great. I called her multiple times throughout my recovery for help and advice and she always got back to me right away. 5 months after my surgery I got married and thanks to Dr. Lamacchia I was able to walk down the aisle without a limp. I was able to dance all night without having any pain. He basically gave me my life back. I cannot say enough good things about him and his staff!"
