Reviews of Comprehensive Psychiatric Services
"Diagnosed ADD/ADHD and they've been exceedingly helpful! The understood that i found a Gene that causes it and Accepted that I'm capable of my own research. "I'm surprised you didn't do this sooner" - was the response after presenting all the info. It made me feel relieved that they believed in my ability to research. They ere even willing to talk to my Family. I can't thank them enough!"
"The Dr was fifteen minutes late to our appointment and then he didn't remember half the stuff I told him and had to repeat myself three and four times. In the end he told me that what I needed was a divorce and a good man, cuz I'm young and pretty and have a lot going for me. I've never felt so ignored, discredited, and disgusted. I was just waiting for him to diagnose me with hysteria since he seems to be stuck in the dark ages of mental health."
"The "therapist" I saw didn't have any degrees or a doctorate and I'm not even sure she was certified. I only saw her a few times but her "talk therapy" basically boiled down to "you have your family (parents and a sibling) therefore you have no reason to be sad". The "waiting room" was also cramped, aesthetically sterile, and reminded me of the foyer to a small elementary school with no janitor. Would give zero stars if possible and never going back or referring others. AVOID."
"I went here for AD/HD consultation and medication requests and was appointed to Saul Forman. Although they do have an ADHD specialist on board named Fran Parker, for which they offered a consultation with her also. I decided to stick with Saul because I came from after work and have a busy schedule. I was diagnosed as a child and had all my paperwork with me proving it. After discussing, we came to an agreed consensus on what type of medication I could take. It was all voluntary but I wanted to use medication to help me in my current profession which requires me to sit focused for hours in meetings (which is tough already for regular people, even more so for adults with ADD). I found that so far it has helped me and I only take it occassionally on those really long days. I found Dr. Forman to be a good doctor with a very nice bed-side manor. He also has a lot of experience in the field."
"My old psychiatrist never has appointments available when I need to see him because I work full time during the day and go to school at night and he is on the other side of town, so I spun the wheel of places with longer hours that are close to my work and accept my insurance and I landed here. I called and made an appointment easily enough, and they had my intake exam set up a week out. I was impressed with what should have been a red flag. I chose this place because they are open until 9pm, so I assumed that they would be sympathetic to people with hectic schedules. I could not have been more wrong. When I walked in, the entire front office staff looked like they came to work from a Quiet Riot concert - jeans, tshirts, and 80s hair! The waiting room was messy at best. I was assigned Toby Hazan as my doctor. I had a "freak" seizure in June on the way back from a trip to Barcelona, and I disclosed this on my forms. All Hazan wanted to talk about the entire time I was there (which was an hour and a half as opposed to the 45 min - 1hr I was told on the phone) was that seizures can be a side effect of the medications I'm on. I'm not going to expand on the details of our conversation, but he basically called my neurologist, my primary care physician, and the neurologist at the ER idiots. Also, his office was DIRTY. I'm no clean freak, but seriously, that was just gross. I was almost scared to sit down. Nevermind the fact that he didn't have a computer, and kept on playing with his phone to "look up" the side effects of drugs during our visit rarely making eye contact. He continuously insulted my intelligence and devalued my time. It got to the point, about an hour and 20 minutes in where I asked him if he was going to recommend a good solution for my ADD and sleeping problems, or if he was just going to continue to rake me over the coals for taking medicine that was prescribed by another doctor for a diagnosed condition. I eventually told him if he didn't suggest a solution, other than my current medication, that I hadn't tried before I would walk out. Yes, that's right, I had to threaten this therapist into helping me. I'd have thought he'd be more sensitive since he supposedly deals with people with mental and emotional problems all day, but that was the wrong assumption to make. So 10 minutes after I made the ultimatum, he handed me 2 prescriptions, and then told me that I was to blame for making him late for his next appointment. Since my visit last week, I accidentally washed one of them, so I called the clinic to request that he call it in. Instead, I get a call from him telling me that I have to come by the office and sign more releases for him to get my medical records. Mind you, this is after I had already signed releases for my neurologist and primary care physician DURING the intake, not even beforel! I mean, really? He didn't think of that before he gave me the prescriptions the first time? He would ask for one release... and then talk condescendingly to me about how the seizure occurred, attempting to trip me up on my story, then ask for the next release. Why would I lie if I already told him I had a seizure? I wouldn't. I wanted help, and received brash judgment instead. Needless to say, I will NOT be going back to this place and would discourage others from doing so as well."
