"I would be so much worse off but the ACT TEAM has been bringing me meds every other day to prevent another suicide attempt and with their help I have hope of not being homeless and although I am extremely depressed because of my situation, the meds are really helping my schizophrenic symptoms. I'm still many layers beneath depression due to the reality I woke up to but the Act adventures and getting out with people makes me feel human again.and I am looking forward to trying clubhouse"

"Definitely get help if you need help, but if you have the option to receive said help from somewhere else, I would highly recommend going there instead of here. I won't go into too much detail but I have tried explaining (SEVERAL TIMES) to my psychiatrist here that I feel I would be better off without medication and he has not listened. Each time, he insists that I stay on the medication and/or makes an excuse as to why I should continue taking the meds. To be quite honest, going here has harmed me more than it has helped as I am now losing faith in mental health professionals entirely and constantly feel that I have to protect myself against being taken to court for simply advocating for myself. Like I mentioned previously, if you can receive psychiatry/therapy elsewhere, please do so. If CMH is your only option, like it is for many of us, try to keep a written record of any med changes and anything that bothers you about your appointments in case you do end up having to go to court. Whether you choose to go here or not, I believe you will push through. You are capable of overcoming this obstacle!"

"I went there looking for help about feeling hopeless in life and feeling worthless and like I don't matter to anyone. My entire life my mother has turned everyone against me with lies so no one will listen to me because in her own words she doesn't want to let me go. She had me Forcibly admitted into the mental ward 10 years ago With a bunch of lives where the doctor refused to listen to me at all because in his words I was the patient and didn't know what was best the only listen to my mother who later admitted to the court ordered counselor That she lied to have me admitted because I challenge her too much when I'm happy I'm getting out on my own and she didn't want to let go. This red flag that I have on me because of that prevents me from getting a hazmatendorsement for my CD l and I can no longer go to port Harbor's mines leave the country or go to any secure facility which seriously Hinders me in my job. Even during the hearing the judge wouldn't let me speak to defend myself at all and give my side of the story. I want to prove it all to try to get help to get that flag removed So that I could have hoped for my future. There's psychiatrist when I tried to tell him what was going on refuse to listen to me and flat out told me That he didn't want to hear what I had to say All he wanted to know was what I was diagnosed with when my mom had me forcibly admitted by the doctor who refused to listen to me. Even when I told him that I was afraid for my life because my mom would get her husband to threaten my wife and try to kill me to help her keep me too stressed out and unhappy he still insisted on putting me on a medication that would make it impossible for my mother to bring me down so he completely ignored my fears. You didn't even want to consider that you might be putting my wife and jeopardy. You left me with less hope than I had when I went in and he made me feel more worthless and meaningless than I ever have before in my life. He also kept saying that it would help with my appetite if I took the medication. I'm suffering from a subtle geo cancer. I get all my nutrients through a freedom tube. I was Hooked up to my feeding tube while I was talking to him. I explained to him that my tube goes into my bowels and not my stomach so because of that I never get hungry no matter how malnourished I am or how much I need nourishment. It took me telling him 4 times About That before he decided to stop suggesting taking the medication to help with my appetite. These people that work They're don't care about their patients at all if you care about your mental health I highly suggest you stay the hell away from this place."

"So where to begin…was referred to this organization after an acute psychiatric hospitalization for my son, as they set these appointments prior to his discharge, typical of an inpatient stay to ensure follow up after release. 2 appointments set 1 with a therapist and 1 for a doctor to manage meds. Arrived to what should have been a therapy session and in fact was an “assessment” where it felt more like intake to a community corrections program then mental health treatment. Weird right because I’m looking for therapist not a case manager but hey what do I know, then we talk to a 2nd person who does the assessment then states another appointment will need to happen prior to an actual therapist session for a treatment plan. I arrived to the second appointment for the “treatment plan”, person apologized for getting us late due to finishing a different treatment plan, takes us to her office, informing us that in the 2 weeks since our last appointment hasn’t had time to read my child’s assessment and it was going to be a lot of her reading copying and pasting, and proceeds to ask the same questions person #2 from first appointment asked. Then proceeded to rudely contradict my response so I questioned the point of the appointment since questions have already been asked and answered at previous appointment and that appointments were already scheduled. I was excused from the room by this person (which I declined) so my son could answer comfortably and continued to watch her pull out a treatment plan textbook to complete said treatment plan. After 20 minutes of watching her skim her textbook and type her answers from the book, we were given another appointment and sent on our way. After leaving I called to clarify that the next scheduled appointment was with an actual therapist since it’s been a month and still no therapy for my child and guess what this lady is the therapist! I am dumbfounded. Not once did she introduce herself as a therapist, was completely unprofessional and unprepared for our appointment. If you can’t write a treatment plan without a textbook ya probably shouldn’t be providing treatment to patients. So if you want to want to sit and watch people type on a computer bill the state for your time and not receive REAL help this is the place for you! Just be warned paperwork is tremendous and the typed answers will suit their agenda for state funding and you may or may not be seen by a trained professional capable of treatment."
