"IF I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD - MUST READ! My experience with Dr. Sybesma and his clinic was nothing short of a complete and utter nightmare. The front desk staff displayed unprofessionalism and incompetence from the beginning. Sybesma refused to come into the room until I asked his PA multiple times. Once Sybesma finally did decide to 'stop by', he left the door open(HIPPA violation), was extremely rude, got very aggressive, and even called me a curse word when after several mentions challenged his deplorable suggestion of cortisone injections and possibly surgery - all before doing any range of motion tests, ordering an MRI, or having even general idea of a diagnosis. I implore everyone to steer clear of Sybesma and his clinic. The level of unprofessionalism, disrespect, and hostility I encountered is unacceptable, and no patient should ever have to endure such an ordeal. Find another healthcare provider who respects your concerns, follows ethical guidelines, and treats patients with dignity and respect."
"If I could give no stars I would ..my daughter was referred for a broken toe she’s 6. Dr j. Sybesma seen her . He walked into the exam room didn’t bother to close the door asked her which toe she told him he squeezed it said yup it’s broken tape it to the other toe for 2 weeks and left the room . Very unprofessional in my opinion. When I called to which providers I was told that per their policy they would have to reach out to management and get back to me . Well they got back to said since she half way through her care I can’t which providers. And they stated he was the best orthopedic surgeon around. Sounds to me more like they didn’t like what I had to say about my experience . You should be aloud to switch providers if there are issues but not a this place"
"I called here to switch my son to a Michigan Orthopedic Dr and a second opinion. I was told by the rude receptionist that the "rule of thumb is they do not accept patients who have had surgery within a year and that I had to go back to the Dr. that performed my sons surgery in October." After questioning the ridiculous "rule", I told her "I did NOT HAVE to take him back to any Dr if I didn't want to, and I'd find someone better who will take him." I was referred here by the ER last year and I'm glad I went elsewhere now. I will drive an hour away to take him to Coloma for his appointment instead. If you want a Dr who tells you what you have to do verses listening to you and discussing options, I'm sure this is the perfect place for you."
"My visit today was a complete waste of time. The doctor wanted me in and out & didn’t even take the time to listen to what I was trying to say . He had the nerve to tell me he didn’t want to hear about my medical history & only wanted to hear why I was there now . Well don’t you think you should know what lead me to here ? Oh and also he commented on my weight and played it off like it was no big thing . I would NOT recommend going to this place . Total waste of time and money .."
"My son has been to at least 30 medical doctors in his life and I’ve not felt like I needed to write a review until now. I’ve wrote maybe 2 other reviews up until now. Would not recommend if you or your loved one has a developmental disability. His reasoning for how he decided how to “treat” (aka surgery or anything at all) my child was not because that’s “what’s best” or “the least amount of pain and least risk for complications” but because it was the best way to “not risk a lawsuit”. Reading his other reviews has me wondering.. why is this doctor so afraid of them? Enough to mention it to brand new patients that have never met him? Has he had that many? Been threatened that often? He did not take my son’s developmental diagnosis into consideration at all, apparently because my son is not able to understand means he should live in pain. The front office people and nurses were great, very patient and understanding."
