Reviews
"Was referred here for after surgical care, arrived and was promptly told that was not their job and that I had to go to the ER."
"I don't usually leave reviews on here, but finding a good and responsive doctor is important (and oftentimes difficult). I hope this context helps others in their search. I have been going to Dr. Berger's office for nearly a year. During that time, I have been transferred to 3 different PCPs. None of the doctors were willing to continue my prescription for PREP (HIV prevention), because they didn't understand what it was - they even used part of a visit searching Google to learn about it. My previous doctor has graciously continued to write me a prescription for this very common drug. I can never get a hold of the doctors here. Every time I call, the automated answering services force me to leave a message instead of letting me speak to a real person. This became an issue a month ago, when they forgot to attach my insurance to my recent visit, so I was getting bills in the mail for hundreds of dollars of unpaid statements that were "ready to go to a collection agency." I once arrived to an appointment 11 minutes late, because I live almost an hour away. Upon arrival, they informed me the doctor couldn't see me because I was more than 10 minutes late. They proceeded to schedule me for the next available slot, which was more than a month away. The people are technically nice and probably aren't being incompetent on purpose, but my experience with them has continued to be such a hassle. Just today, their lack of responsiveness means I have to go on an upcoming vacation without my prescription... because the pharmacy needs their approval but can't reach them. If you can, avoid this place. I hope you can find something better."
"The clinic is very nice and I like the support staff. One issue I have ran into is that transferring orders to other clinics is sometimes difficult. And you need to re-call the clinic to make sure the medical orders are transferred correctly. Often there is a student observing the practice of the staff but not always. I see a nurse practitioner (previously NP Shireman)under Dr. Berger. I feel that I am listened to and recieve valuable care for menatal and physical health. I usually only see Dr. Berger if a nurse practitioner is not in."
