"Dr. Heidtke is incredibly smart and kind. She gives her patients her full attention and genuinely cares. Laurie, who is Dr. Heidtke’s practice manager, is a former nurse and is an incredible asset to the practice."
"This facility is awful all across the board. They do not care and treat patients like numbers. Lack of communication, long scheduling wait times when these fertility procedures are so time sensitive, billing department has no idea what they are doing and our entire experience here was painful and terrible. They sent me spiraling down an extensive and expensive route of testing when nothing was wrong from the beginning. They did not offer crucial options for our best chances of getting pregnant. They do not provide specialized, individual treatment plans for patients. My husband and I switched to a fertility center in Chicago and it has been a totally different experience for the better. We regret spending so much time and money at this clinic. ***9/13/23 UPDATE - I am now 7 months pregnant thanks to The Fertility Centers of Illinois. A dream we never would have achieved had we settled for this Grand Rapids facility."
"4/11/23: My husband and I had our first visit with Dr. Giuliani this morning. We were nervous because we weren't sure what to expect. She couldn't have been nicer! I was impressed that she actually seemed to have reviewed our records before our appointment. I look forward to going back! ----- Update 8/28/23: We unfortunately will not be returning to TFC for two reasons, 1. The billing department is an absolute NIGHTMARE. 2. The nurses seem so disorganized and out of touch with each other it's unreal. The providers (Dr. Giuliani and Shana Broxup, PA) are excellent, but we only saw each of them twice. Shana is extremely responsive and top notch. I'm quite sad that we won't be seeing either of them anymore due to the other staff. :( ---- Side note: this clinic has a BMI restriction of 50+ for IVF (due to "anesthesia concerns"), but no BMI restrictions for anything else. If you think IVF is in your future but you are above this limit, you'll need to find an alternate clinic."
"Zero stars. I am trying to donate my eggs but the application process is not the best. I’m getting no return phone calls and rude people at the front desk. Not a place to be if looking for something easy and easy going. Should have people at the front desk who can explain some procedures and most of everything there. I’m just a woman trying to help another woman. That’s all."
"My wife and I utilized The Fertility Center in Grand Rapids and unfortunately we did not have a good experience. The short version review is we found the clinic to be unorganized and the professionals here seemed uninformed of the latest fertility care. The staff was alway polite to us but were difficult to reach and often times we played phone tag. We utilized TFC’s IUI and IVF treatments, and when we would ask for the doctors professional recommendations the response was “whatever you two want to do”…My wife and I found this response unprofessional because we did not understand what to do and felt that we were not given adequate information to make an educated decision for ourselves. Our feeling is the professionals here should have directed us through this process and not put so much of the decision making process on us. Often we would return home after our appointments, do a lot of research, and would make our decision with the best understanding we had. Ultimately we went through multiple IUI treatments, a round of IVF, and two embryo transfers. We were unsuccessful in becoming pregnant. When we were not successful in becoming pregnant our doctor’s response was “I’m stumped”… My wife and I then went to Colorado’s Center of Reproductive Medicine (CCRM) and were successful in becoming pregnant, utilizing IVF treatment. The difference at CCRM was the staff there is up to date on the latest fertility care practices, they control the entire process, guide you through their process, are very organized, and were upfront about our chances of becoming pregnant before the major stuff got started and money was invested. My wife and I wish we would have went through CCRM to begin with, but it is what it is. We would not recommend anyone go to The Fertility Center in Grand Rapids. We believe we would have had a less stressful and emotional experience throughout this process, and would have saved a substantial amount of money if we did not utilize The Fertility Center and went straight to CCRM. Good luck to those of you on your fertility journey and hopefully this review helps."
