Reviews of Cass Street Ear Nose & Throat
"Dr. Snyder helped diagnose a somewhat rare condition I had and referred me to an amazing specialist downstate. Snyder has been super helpful and thorough through the whole process and I really appreciate that! Dr. Treadway was a great fit for my daughter who needed her adenoids and tonsils removed. I would highly recommend either of these doctors."
"Dr Snyder has been a wonderful doctor to me. The front desk staff has always been happy and friendly. I have always been able to get in fairly quickly and happy for the expert services they've given me."
"Worst experience I’ve ever had in a Doctors office. Dr. Schultz and receptionist are very rude. I felt like it was such an inconvenience to them that I brought my children in to be seen by Dr. Schultz whom we were referred to by our doctor. They were more worried about how they are just so busy with all of there other patients. Just made me feel like my boys weren’t worth their time. Will be finding somewhere else to go."
"Patients beware. I gave a second star, benefit of doubt, as I cannot accurately review any of the doctors as I wasn’t allowed to see one. I had been to the ER for vertigo and things were getting debilitatingly worse. The receptionist took it upon herself to “screen” me (yes she used that word), and she decided I was only worthy of seeing the P.A. I explained that something wasn’t right, that this was different than common vertigo. Her excuse was they are understaffed. They are, but these days I’ve come to expect that. Normally I have no problem seeing a P.A.. They asked typical questions and I was sent for a hearing test. Pay attention, when the audiologist casually mentions they are part of Munson, not Cass st., what they really mean is the Hospital and your hearing test will be charged as an outpatient service. Shocking bill, and months later I still haven’t seen the detailed claim from Munson, only a bill. P.A.—I could hear them talking in the hallway to Dr. Treadway before giving me a diagnosis. It’s an uncommon condition. I was told to eat less salt and see where I’m at in a month. No extra testing, hardly a discussion about what the condition entails, given a 1 page handout and sent on my way. My crushing vertigo, nausea, tinnitus etc. continued. I specifically asked if I should see a specialist and was told no by the P.A.. I took it upon myself to see a specialist down state anyway. They did several tests to give me a different diagnosis, with solutions that are actually working. I had a follow up with the P.A. And questioned the diagnosis before sharing what the specialist said—P.A. very coyly said “I’m pretty sure of my diagnosis”, without discussing anything else it could possibly be and why they thought it wasn’t XYZ. I’ve learned that what I have is hard to diagnose, and shares symptoms across different causes. I’m not fully mad at the P.A.’s misdiagnosis. What frustrates me is that the only ENT office around wasn’t willing to push further to help me when I had been laid up for months. Instead I was told I can’t see a doctor, they are “pretty sure” on my diagnosis, and were fully unwilling to refer me to a specialist despite debilitating symptoms. I’ve heard good things about one or two of the docs for common ENT issues. But after a visit here if you believe your issue doesn’t line up with the diagnosis, get a second opinion."
"Very, *very* disappointed by this office. Specifically the receptionist. Cliff Notes version of our experience: * My 2 yo son needed tubes after 4 ear infections. * Referred by our pediatrician to this ENT. * Had to wait in the waiting room with our VERY active 2 yo for not quite an hour (which felt like an eternity). * Husband asked receptionist for status updates twice in that time. She was dismissive and told us that the doctor would be with us shortly twice. She also appeared very flustered to have to answer a question. * Our son was basically doing laps in the waiting room which garnered some laughs, but also many dirty looks and eye rolls * At the 50-ish minute mark of waiting (our son was almost in full meltdown mode), I told the receptionist that we wanted to cancel the appointment and surgery. * We ended up keeping the appointment and getting the tubes because the nurse called our name at that exact moment. This little breakdown does not even come close to our actual experience. I will say this, though: If you are an ENT office and you do tubes on littles, at least have a space with toys (not just a table) for children to play with. Also, don't make someone so young wait so long - they don't understand why they're there and it's not appropriate or fair. We felt like our son was so disrespected by this office. *Dr. Schulz was nice enough, though, and did a good job with our son's surgery."
