"In short, FANTASTIC. Had no clue this place existed until we came across an activity table they had at the Waterford Rec/Senior Center, much less that it's been around since 1996. It sounded interesting so made a note to go and went with my 2 kids. You pay a small affordable fee per person (I paid cash, but it looked like they had a device to run cards) onsite after you reserve your spots online. The Art Experience building located in an industrial loft-y warehouse in Pontiac and you park behind a gate. A better, more obvious sign pointing you to the proper door would have been helpful, but know the entrance is on the 1st floor on the side of the building directly off the parking lot area. If you head towards the way-back, you've gone too far. The actual space is large, bright and airy with high ceilings. It has several tables available that are covered with brown paper to allow for the ultimate creativity-induced messes. First off, I could not believe the sheer amount of art materials they had on hand to use and create with. Wood, jewelry, all types of paint, brushes, cardboard, wire, yarn, paper, hot glue, graphic duct tape, etc. You name the media and tool/equipment, they probably have it. They also have brand new canvasses for a small upcharge (I was surprised at the affordability of those) and some reusable ones (painted over for re-use) at half the price of the new ones, as well as art books for reference. If it's your 1st time there, they will give you a tour. My kids had a great time and want to go back. The Art Experience would be a great option for an almost no limits art extravaganza outing on a rainy day, a winter day, or small birthday party outing for both adults and kids. I don't really get actively involved with kid stuff, I mostly just watch while mine do their thing, but I actually made my own little multi-media paint/art piece while there. That's saying something."
