The institution has recently announced an innovative approach to learning and student development by introducing a co-divisional model, where boys and girls are educated in single-gender learning environments on the same campus. Headed by Mr. Bob Pyles, St. Mary's Preparatory aims to prepare its students for success in college and beyond by fostering critical thinking, collaboration, and independence. The campus, situated on 115 acres of land with stunning views of Orchard Lake, features 32 buildings and offers a serene environment for learning and growth.
With the introduction of the St. Mary's Preparatory Girls Division in the Fall of 2020, the institution is breaking new ground in providing young women with the same quality education and values that have been instilled in young men for over a century. As one of the premier Catholic boys educational institutions in the nation, St. Mary's Preparatory is dedicated to guiding students to become Christ-like models of service and leadership in the world.

"Our son is a Freshman. After visiting 4 different Catholic high schools, we chose OLSM. Best choice for our son. Covid? St. Mary's is the perfect campus for in person learning. It has multiple buildings that lend itself to small/spaced out seating and non congested hallways. When our governor placed in person learning on pause, OLSM didn't miss a beat. Academics are rigorous, but realistic and the teachers are always available for help. Sports are amazing. Every boy has a chance to play and develop. The best part of OLSM is they are fanily. Our son is more than just a number. The faculty, staff, coaches, classmates know and greet him and other students by name. He belongs to a great family...the Orchard Lake St. Mary’s family. God. Family. St. Mary’s."
"Excellent preparatory high school. Very good academic program; outstanding athletic and life preparation program. St Mary’s alumni are well represented at elite universities, as Olympic athletes, and in top ranked college athletics programs. The class size is fairly modest, allowing for good attention to individual students. Students’ achievements are nonetheless strongly based on the effort they put into obtaining their education. This is not a prep school where you get your “ticket punched” merely by showing up."

"The cops need to be reigned in at the Polish Fair, they were very intrusive and rude and made it hard for me and my friends to enjoy the event. Next year, tell them to be more respectful and considerate of festival attendees."
