"Came here for over 4 years with my oldest. When my twins were born in August of 2022 we began to experience issues. Our insurance didn’t cover one of their first visits bc they saw it as a duplicate charge. After making numerous calls to solve the matter, I was told it was solved. Months later I got a text and VM from Northpointe again saying it wasn’t covered. I was very busy in that moment and had forgotten to get back to it. One day I noticed my kids were behind for their visits and called, they told me I couldn’t come in until the balance was paid. I’d completely forgot about the messy outcome of the situation and the receptionist condescending accused me of lying and verbally cornered me. I told them I’d call my insurance again and they then informed me they were making a note of refusal to pay. Just like every call I’d had about this issue that wasn’t my fault, it was patronizing. At this point I asked to speak to the manager. I informed her that I understood we owed money but made it clear that the way that I was spoken to was unkind and unprofessional. She basically said she’d speak her employees but business was business. I ended up setting up a payment plan that day and finding a new practice where I’m much happier at. Had they shown some compassion I would’ve looked past the situation, but they acted like entitled high school girls and I’m not willingly associating myself with that behavior. As someone who works in the dental field I can say that they could’ve easily written off what the insurance was supposed to pay or a small portion of it. Offered us something in exchange for the huge headache and inconvenience that me and my husband spent months on. Or even a simple apology since we were clearly stressed and in a tight spot. Instead they lost out on customers; and judging by the many reviews about the front desk staff- they will continue to do so. Seriously get a clue and better staff. NOTE: we missed our appts one time on a day that I started a new job. That was rubbed in my face during our talk although it was the kids only missed visit. They also had me sign a refusal form for not giving my 3-4 yr old the Covid vaccine."
"I am not happy about posting a two star for my child's pediatrician but here I am her doc was very pushy with certain shots almost sales like which is bizarre to me! If you don't want high pressure situations then maybe check into another pediatrician cause that happened to my wife and daughter unfortunately! and they have been her pediatrician for 10 plus years shame on you Dr N! This pediatrician has really changed and have become pushy unfortunately! If it wasn't for how timely and how there front desk saved this from being a 1 star!"
"Please do not send your child here. My first appointment with them, they had me sit for over an hour with an impatient one year old. Front desk would not give me an answer every time I asked what was the long wait. The MA I had was nice at first, but once my child started screaming crying from waiting so long, she became rude as well. They do not value your child’s health either. I kept reiterating to the doctor my child is prone to seizures from medications and instead of really caring and investigating, they gave him multiple doses of things. This led him to be in the hospital right after. Once I communicated with them about this, they showed no compassion whatsoever. I requested multiple times to speak with the manager but my calls were never returned. Talk about a good practice. Please, please take your child to a more caring place! They overbook and are very inconsiderate of parents/caregivers time. I was able to find a very good pediatrician right after and have loved them since."
"Wow! I really like the way the office is set up. I have worked in medical offices and this is the way I'd like to see most of them run. There is almost no waiting time. After you check in, you are asked to go to the room the front office tells you is open for you. That happens almost immediately. You can continue to fill out your forms in the room if you are a new patient. The wait for a nurse to come in and collect vitals is somewhere between 5 to 10 minutes. The wait for a doctor to come in after that is between 5 and 15 minutes. We addressed all problems and issues I've been having before coming there. These issues were addressed on the first appointment. I didn't need to wait for another appointment. My word as my children's mother was taken and it was addressed immediately. I think I was in shock after that. I'm so used to being met with doubt in those situations. I had been fighting for one issue for close to a year. The provider addressed and took care of it on the very first appointment. The provider took my paperwork and directed me to the checkout. That was it! I was so impressed that I am now searching the area for something similar for adults. I really hope I can find a provider for myself with a similar set up. As a healthcare professional myself I was very impressed with the flow of the office and the patience and kindness of the entire staff. I mean even the other parents in the waiting room were nice & friendly. It's just an overall low stress environment. This office is a textbook example of how a medical office should flow. Thank you so much for helping my girls out. I am looking forward to a long relationship with this office. Thank you!"
"This is the best pediatricians office I have ever taken my kids to!! After switching from a pediatrician in Troy after multiple bad experiences and awful wait times, I have to say we have ALWAYS had excellent experiences at Northpointe and my children have always been treated with so much warmth and care. We have never waited and appointments are always efficient. My daughters usually see Dr Leo who is absolutely incredible, but every other doctor or nurse we have seen have been wonderful!! One of my daughters is VERY anxious with doctors and they have always been amazing with her!!! If you have a medical question, the nurses who answer are knowledgeable and kind, especially Sydney. They never make you feel like a question or concern are silly. I cannot say enough good things about this practice!!!"
