"I needed an mri/xrays due to issues I’ve been having after seeing a chiropractor. They needed to do 3 areas of my spine & were able to get me in quickly & do everything at once. I was originally scheduled through st Joe’s & only for 2 areas of my spine & would have to go back weeks later for the 3rd. I called around & was scheduled at McLaren the following weekend for all of my testing including X-rays & everyone was very kind."

"This is re: the geriatric psych unit. My family was told the incorrect time for patient discharge/pickup and had to go back later. Honestly, that’s not a huge deal, but what IS a big deal is the lack of empathy, kindness, and professionalism by some of the staff at the McLaren Oakland Geriatric Psych unit. I dealt with some of the rudest staff I could imagine in a situation where mental health is involved. I 100% understand they cannot legally tell me certain things (I work in the medical field as well) so it’s OK if they have to decline answering some questions. Sadly, I couldn’t even ask *general* questions without them becoming exacerbated and unkind. One employee started shouting at me although I never raised my voice at her. We had no idea if we needed to go to the pharmacy to pick up meds, etc. All I truly needed to know was if there was information on prescriptions, resources in the community, etc. I fortunately found a packet of info in my family member’s belongings. Telling family “the information is with the patient” violates nothing and would have saved us an entire conversation. Luckily I spoke with another staff member later who gave me the basic info I needed. I do appreciate her and the staff giving care on the unit. My family member liked the nurses on the unit. Prior to all of this, we were given conflicting information from the staff and psychiatrists about my family member’s progress the estimated length of stay. This made the sudden discharge extra confusing. TLDR: Geri psych discharge process is a bit chaotic and some staff is unkind. It’s difficult to get general questions answered and they don’t take concerns well. I wish that my family member would have been admitted somewhere that understands what’s involved with bringing a family member home after an inpatient stay."

"I was admitted into McLaren with chest pains. I was immediately assigned a bed and all kinds of test were done by the staff. The staff were the greatest bunch of people I have seen. I was put at ease and told exactly what was going on. I spent almost three days in the emergency room and was given the best service I could have asked for. When I was finally discharged, I was confident I received the best medical treatment available. Thank you, ladies and gentlemen, not only for the treatment but for making my stay a great worry free visit."

"Wow I am blown away by how rude and disrespectful the day / morning valet guy is . My very first time here for mri an I have never been talk to before so rudely by valet. The guy was very ignorant an had such an attitude. This was not my first time threw a valet either, so I am aware of how the process goes . More than likely will never go back to that hospital for anything let alone if I ever had to go back I rather walk 2 miles than ever use the valet at this establishment again. Also waited more than 5 mins while there apparently was another man who was waiting 10 mins before me lol. What awful service , he had an issue because I pulled up to the valet sign an that I did not see the little sign that the other man had parked in front of that u clearly can not see behind a regular sized vehicle. Please get new valet staff a New Bigger signs !"
