Harmel Academy of the Trades

Harmel Academy of the Trades, located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a post-secondary institution that trains men in a skilled trade while also forming them in their Catholic faith. The academy believes that work is a way for individuals to become what God has designed them to be, and emphasizes the importance of prayer and work in creating a fulfilling life in relationship with Christ.

Men at Harmel Academy are encouraged to develop skills, integrity, faith, and insight through either a two-year apprenticeship-track program or a one-year gap year program. The academy fosters a community where men challenge each other to become disciplined, prayerful, joyful, and serious individuals.
