Reviews
"I had the opportunity to substitute teach at Holy Trinity. The staff and children demonstrated a true knowledge of Jesus and the Catholic Faith. They were friendly, happy, considerate, and welcoming. Definitely not the words I would use to describe children in most schools I have visited throughout my career. As an educator I know the hard work and dedication it takes to work in a private school. As a parent I know that it is not the teacher's responsibility to teach my child how to be a good Christian. That lesson begins at home. I teach my children to choose Jesus as their role model and mentor. If you question what is being taught at this school regarding sin, perhaps you should read the bible or discuss your concerns appropriately with the teachers you feel have misled your child. Social media is not the place to air your grievances. It's childish and not at all in line with what the church teaches."
"We started our oldest out at Holy Trinity almost 10 years ago in preschool not knowing if we were going to stay or not. It definitely was not an easy decision whether to stay or go to a different school for kindergarten. My husband and I both attended public so we knew the difference and the options we were weighing. Long story short, we will be enrolling our fourth child into kindergarten next year and could not be happier. Our four children each have different personalities, challenges, strengths and weaknesses and Holy Trinity accommodates every single one of them. From the lazy genius to generalized anxiety disorder to multiple rare diseases with doctors appts and getting behind in work to our 3rd year in preschool and I think we are finally ready to move on, we have never once questioned our choice to send our kids to this school. Smaller class sizes. More individualized attention. A community/family like feel every time you are there. Above national average test scores. Above all, instilling a firm foundation and belief in love and respect for all living and non living things, especially God."
"The principal accepts the staff teaching: - Daydreaming in class is a sin. It’s stealing time; stealing is a sin therefore daydreaming is a sin. - Homework on Sunday is a sin. The principal denied and ignored that this was being taught to third graders. Then the lesson sheet was discovered. The principal asked me what she should do about it! I asked the principal to have these alleged sins correctly retaught to the third graders. This was never done. I was told parents sign a contract and must accept how the school is teaching religion. Enrollment for 1 child is over $3,500 annually for this! Holy Trinity school lacks other highly sought educational opportunities like STEM and Robotics classes that advance science, technology, engineering and math. Many elementary and middle schools offer these as classes and clubs for Free. Michigan offered $300,000 in Robotics grants to non- public schools. Other Catholic elementary school in the Grand Rapids Diocese received 100% of the grant money they requested. The principal, Ms. Rand, didn’t even request this grant for the school. Are parents aware of this lost opportunity? See Mich Dept of Education Competitive First Robotics Grants. Having looked with eyes open, other educational opportunities provide a better, well rounded student. Seek Religious Education classes directed by someone who took vows as a vocation to uphold correct religious teaching. Sadly, this Catholic school has lay teachers which most are not trained to teach religion. This was evident. The foundation of a Catholic school must be properly teaching religion."
"We have 2 students at Holy Trinity and we love being involved with the school. We have been very impressed with our kids education. I would encourage every family to consider HT for their school. We are very fortunate to have Principal Rand and our teachers leading our school."
"We have been thoroughly pleased with the authentic Catholic education that our children have received at Holy Trinity. We have 1 student who has graduated from HT and is now a freshman at West Catholic. His freshman year has proven the value of his HT education. He has been very well prepared to succeed at the high school level. We also have 4 children still at Holy Trinity. The teachers and staff are extremely dedicated to teaching and growing the whole person, spiritually and intellectually. Additionally, the tuition is extremely reasonable for a private education. We would highly recommend anyone looking for a quality education for their child to consider Holy Trinity."
