"As both bookworms and foodies we were so excited to visit after seeing this place online. The atmosphere inside was a book lover's dream and the idea of a bookstore/bistro/bar reminded me of something you would see in NYC. Unfortunately our experience was a bit awkward as we found it is a small place filled with tables that are placed too close to the bookshelves. You cannot browse or look at most of the books without being too close to someone eating at a table. After waiting about 20 minutes our table was ready and we were sat by the front door. The hostess knew it was cold so she suggested to keep wearing our coats throughout the entire lunch. Kind of disappointing as we were not given the option to stay on the waitlist so we could sit elsewhere. The food was okay and the drinks were good. We only ordered a couple of small bites. Maybe dinner is better? We went on Saturday (early afternoon) and I think it would have been more enjoyable if it was less busy. We loved and appreciated the idea of the space, atmosphere, and variety of books on the shelves and hope that they find a configuration that works better for the future. As of now if you are first time visitors like us, make sure you think of it more as a Café that is decorated with books, and it just so happens you can buy them."
"This was my First visit to the cozy Flyleaf but it certainly won’t be my last. I was exactly sure what to expect but it exceeded my expectations. The space is extremely cozy and inviting. There are multiple seating options, good lighting, friendly staff and my favorite was the fireplace. The menu is simple and there are a few savory options. We stayed for about 2 hours which was the limit according to meter parking. We are able to browse for new books and we stayed and read on the comfy chairs."
"Amazing atmosphere that has the vibe of an old school university library. Great curation of books. Came for a date with my husband around 2pm on Saturday and there was a wait-list for a dining table that moved fairly quickly. Other seating was mostly filled and it was a bit tight, however I think in the spring with the rooftop open there would be a bit more space. You can grab a coffee or drink and wander which is very enjoyable. The food was really fresh and delicious. Cute bookish cocktail menu. Overall definitely worth a stop, would love to return at a less busy time to linger and read."
"The atmosphere is absolutely stunning and inspiring. The food was delicious. It just began to get a bit crowded after 5pm and it felt tight because the seating is limited. I arrived before 4pm so I secured cozy and beautiful seating in front of the fireplace. I definitely plan to return, perhaps in the morning to fully enjoy and explore the space."
"The rating is based on the evening service, which did not match the atmosphere or ambience of the establishment. Expectations were very high based on the quality of everything in the space (decor, theme, pleasantness, service). The portion / serving size for the evening fare is appetizer-esk. Better for a casual conversation with some unique flavors and more drinks. Great place for a snack or something to wet your appetite. Quality and thought are easily visible in the offerings, but some rebalancing is needed. Drinks are perfect for the space. Looks upscale, feels upscale, tastes above average. Rating does not apply for morning or afternoon as it would be a 5 star at those times. Staff friendly and professional."
