"I have been in countless facilities. This was the absolute worst in almost every way. There is no opportunity to gain tools for recovery. It was filthy. All the staff talked behind plexiglass while patients attacked each other. I said everything I thought. The staff did start cleaning and protecting us by the time I left."
"My mother was a patient at the Bremen NeuroPsychiatric facility for dementia. I have been debating for a longtime on whether I should write a review of this facility but after reading all the other reviews I see we were not the only family that had issues. If I could have given less then a one star, I would have. This place should be investigated. I would NEVER let anyone check a family member in there. They were quick to do an intake on her but it was impossible to get her discharged. When we checked her in we were told she shouldn't be there no more than 7 to 10 days. She ended up being there up until the day she passed 6 weeks later. We received a call from the nurse the morning she passed away saying she was not doing good and we should probably get there as quickly as possible. No more then 5 minutes later she called back and said she passed away. I believe they found her dead in the morning because they failed to check on her throughout the night and early morning. She was full of life when we checked her in. She went there just to get her meds dialed in. You must set up an appointment to see your loved one and it is only a small window to visit. We called all the time to check on her. I do believe there was some good nurses there. However, we would get conflicting reports on how she was doing. I feel like they were not honest with us in regard to her health. We could not get management staff/discharge coordinator (Daysha) to call us back no matter how many voicemails we left. During one visit I asked if I could speak to the discharge coordinator (Daysha), she refused to see me and said I needed to make an appointment. I live an hour and half away from the facility. I also tried to contact the director of the facility (Michael). I left him multiple messages, he didn't have the courtesy to call me back either. I also tried to contact the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Cameron Gilbert to let him know the issues I was having with the facility, he too did not respond. Ultimately my mother passed away in their care and I can't help but feel she may still be here had we been able to get her released from that facility. Do not let a loved one go to this facility. In my opinion it should be shut down."
"They will NOT allow me to talk to my mother who has dementia, multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis, she can NOT possibly harm herself as she is an invalid, I plan to sue these monsters, do NOT allow your loved ones to go there!!!"
"They DO NOT have therapy of ANY KIND. I was told they have Group/and one on one therapy. Staff are rude/mean, the make people feel worse & scared at time, from LITERALLY yelling at them, it happened MANY times. They also take their time, when a resident needs meds, for pain, etc. The food is beyond horrible, Kool aid with EVERY meal. Also... WEEKENDS do not count for the days you are in their... And list goes on!!! If your looking for help for a loved one, please DO NOT send them here!!! The kitchen staff quit, we were told by an aid, Kay in Indiana location. Their are supposed to be 3 aids all shifts, and EVERY day/night shift with aids, they TYPICALLY only had ONE aid available!!"
"I have been on both sides in this facility as a family member of a patient and as a staff member. My mom was given excellent care and the staff were so caring that I then inquired about a job there. The staff in this facility are like a family and truly care about the patients and each other. I have even witnessed the CEO out caring for these patients. ❤️"
