Cafe Nini

"Hard to find much to fault them with, but hard to find anything spectacular. This is a date night restaurant with that Grosse pointe ambiance that have you forgive solid but very traditional food. I wouldn’t travel far for it, but then again if I wanted a safe place Niniis it."

"What happened?! Cafe Nini used to be fantastic, now it’s trash! 15 Minutes waiting for drinks, while sitting next to a space heater, and another 20 minutes for the mussels to come. The butter for the bread was bland and the red sauce for the mussels tasted like water. The waiter came and went, coming back another 20 minutes after that. We quickly paid, left and walked over to Luxe. Never again will I waste my time with that trash. Bye, Cafe Nini. Please leave Grosse Pointe and never come back."

"The food and wine were excellent. We ordered the fried Zucchini, some pasta and the grilled branzino. We think they forgot our order since we had to remind them after almost an hour that we hadn’t received our appetizers. They recovered very well after that - rushing our order and comping our entire meal! Quite a class act! If you don’t get it right the first time, it’s all in the recovery after all!!"

"I really enjoyed the dirty martini here. The house Cabernet was just okay, I wouldn't order it again. The eggplant stack was delicious. The whitefish and sausage & peppers were just okay. The carbonara was very delicious. It was definitely a carbonara sauce not buttered noodles. The tiramisu was amazing. As mentioned, it is a tiny place and the staff is working very hard."
