"First of all I came in for serious numb, tingling, and burning pain in my leg that had lasted for well over a full day. I was told right off the bat before seeing any doctor that it was sciatic pain from the admissions nurse who had an attitude and acted like I was wasting their time. They then bring me back to a room that was basically a jail cell with only a bed and no chair for my husband to sit on (which they at no point of our 4 HOUR visit offered to him) let alone any kind of machinery to be seen including no clock to even tell what time it was. We wait for the doctor to come in and a very nice younger kid came in to ask questions which he was very helpful and was very detail oriented when taking notes and trying to figure out a plan of action, as well as a bald guy who was very serious and very unwelcoming based on the expressions on his face not to mention the various comments about not having me come back here again. The young kid did his tests and the bald guy just stood there, when the kid finished he said they would be right back and more than likely it was sciatica nerve pain and nothing to be too worried about but they would send me for some labs and possibly X-ray. They leave the room then a female nurse/PT lady came in and was pretty nice explaining how sciatica can be painful and they could probably set me up with PT regularly if the problem continued, the next thing I know she is talking about admisinstering two shots and then a lidocaine patch and that’s it. No one mentions PT no one mentions X-rays or labs as previously stated they wanted to do. They then leave the room again and go to get the shots, administer them at 2:05pm then state they would be back with paperwork for discharge and from 2:05pm we sat in the room waiting to hear from someone until 4:15pm when they finally come to bring in the paperwork. Mind you we sat in the room for about 45 minutes with the door closed until I told my husband to go open the door so they didn’t forget about us like they have done in the past with me before, we listened to them complain about other patients including us and laugh about random stuff for over an hour and 15 minutes. My husband and I both continued to ask when we would receive my discharge papers and each time they kept telling us they had to do a check up on me Which was basically the bald guy popping his head into the room and saying “so what’s your pain at” where I had then informed him that the pain was now going into my back and he basically just asked the question over and over till I said a number then left the room and disappeared for another hour and 15 minutes. We asked over and over when we would receive the discharge papers but nothing. No one said a word till finally I got tired of seeing my husband laying on the floor napping that I went out the door and asked where the hell my discharge papers were to which the nurse/PT came over and said in a really condescending voice that she “just wanted to make sure the pain was gone” I told her it was about a 3-4 just so we could get the hell outta there. So 4 hours for literally no help or guidance other than yeah just stretch it out. After this visit NEVER AGAIN will I step foot into this place and I’d advise that to others too unless you like being looked at like your stupid or that you’re wasting their time when you are genuinely concerned about your well being."
"If possible go somewhere else!! Horrible ER! I was waiting for 3 hours in the waiting room for an available room. I went to triage and then X-rays. The Nurse indicated an hour for X-rays and rolled me back to the waiting-room. While, waiting I noticed several people go back before me and even were discharged. They allowed one dude that was there only 20 minutes with a teeth ache go back before me and I’ll in a wheel chair with a busted up knee and can barely walk. I’m Still waiting for a room, an ice pack or something to ease the pain. When I brought it up to staff and asked how much longer. They acted all nonchalant and irritated because I ask how much longer will I have to wait for a room. No type of bedside manner at all. If I could give them a -1 I would have!"
"One of the worst ER's I've been to!! I will never recommend this place to anyone and I will make sure people go some place else. We waited for hours to be seen, and still wasn't seen. Was told they didn't have any rooms available so we had to wait even longer. After waiting 2 hours more we left, along with 3 other people still waiting to be seen. This ER had no concern for any of us that had came in."
"I'm grateful for the help I received during my mental health episode. However, I don't think the way some of the staff acted was very appropriate. I was unable to answer questions as, like I said, I was having a mental health episode. And it seemed like the people who were asking me questions were getting mad/frustrated at me because I was unable to answer those questions. I'm not really upset about it and I forgive whoever it was, I just think maybe this hospital should use some of its budget on some extra mental health sensitivity training. Because, as someone who, unfortunately, experiences psychosis frequently, it doesn't calm me down to have a person start getting upset at me over it. That makes me *not* want to go into the hospital, and if I didn't go in to the hospital only Heaven knows what may have happened."
"Get ready to fight with your insurance as this place constantly forgets to send billing to the insurance company first or claims they did but have no proof and then my insurance company is never even heard of it.... I did give one star because that one star represents five stars for the actual employees from the front desk to the nurses and Every doctor I've seen everybody working in the building is kind, caring, and helpful. There are a few helpful people in the belly department, but there are also a handful of people that are extremely rude and forceful with their words to try to make you think you've done the wrong thing when you really don't owe the money that they say you do so be diligent with billing. Unfortunately, it is still the case that if you want good quality medical attention as well as a nice establishment proper billing processes, you should leave the town of Mount pleasant and go to Grand rapids or Lansing.."
