"We got there 30 minutes before closing so we could not order anything fried. We had ox tails, roast, baked chicken and rib tips to choose from. Which is a great selection. My food was so damn good! I got rib tops, black eyed peas and greens. I am disappointed that they no longer serve cornbread. The place looked nice and clean"

"Terrible! Pork chop mostly fat and gristle. Tasteless coating that fell off. Low quality meat. Canned corn with no seasoning or butter. Mashed potatoes and gravy both instant. No soul in my meal!! Totally bland...tasted like nursing home food!"

"I checked out Lape today on recommendation of a friend who had oxtails and was NOT sharin'... I had the Pepper Steak Wednesday Special with rice... Like Momma used to make y'all... tender meat and flavorful sauce over rice plus a side. I would agree about the saltiness of some sides. ALL IN ALL: you try it! It was deeeeeeelicous to me."

"The food was very good. No cornbread though because they are looking for a new vendor. Carry out only. Food is pricey in the evening. Too expensive! For 2 people you will pay at least $40 plus dollars...esp. if you add a side (2 sides come with the meal) and dessert ..closer to $55.00. The banana pudding was homemade but in the small container, it was just enough to crave for more, and I hot the ladt one. I believe they make a limited supply and on certain days or weeks. The good news is that they have daily lunch specials for as low as $10.99! Hours are Mon - Sat 10;30 am to 8 pm. If you are craving for soul food LAPE is the place to go! Take out only! Not sure about delivery."
