"I was camping in the area and stopped in for an open mat. First, I messaged them on Facebook to see if I could come and what the drop in fees were ($15 as of the time I'm writing this review). The FB response was quick, welcoming and friendly. I am a 52yo blue belt and have been training for over seven years. The facility is spacious and clean. It has great mats and space. The people are amazingly friendly and talented grapplers. I feel they could have all killed me but took it easy on this older grappler with a few chronic injuries. If you live in the area and want to try jiu jitsu or if you're visiting the area this is your place, bring a gi and stop in. Either way you won't regret it. It really felt like family. They're creating a great culture at Sleeping Bear BJJ. I got in a great workout and I can't wait to go back."
