Reviews of Leo's Coney Island
"Breakfast was just OK. There's nothing wrong with it, but I'd try someplace new next time I'm in that area. Service was great."
"Just disappointed. Really a great value price wise, but just was not good. Got the Coney Fries. Chili and cheese was good, fries were not crisp, underdone. Some were crunchy, as in a little on the raw side. The "Chicago" Dog needs an asterisk. That was not a Chicago Dog. The buns was extremely soggy, could not eat them. They just fell apart. No mustard and why jalapeños? Maybe got the wrong thing, but worst "Chicago Dog" I've ever eaten (or tried to). Very nice customer service."
"My waitress was professional, fast, and knowledgeable about what was needed and at what time. Her memory about drinks, food, boxes for take-home, and the multiple bills we had at one table was amazing! I've always enjoyed coney islands, but she made this one an exceptional experience!"
"I had 2 Coney's and chilli-cheese fries with onions. The food was good, but the buns weren't as soft as I thought they should be. It seems like the fries could have been a bit more in the way of portion size. Nice atmosphere and our waitress was very, good. The cashier, not so much. Maybe she was having a bad day. After she ran my card, instead of handing it back to me, she put it with the receipt and pen and almost slammed it on the counter and walked away. Not even a thanks for coming in. Overall though, still a good visit because I live in Cincinnati now and can't get good Coney's at all until I visit Detroit."
"This location used to be fantastic, food was always cooked good and the quality was great. Cheese sticks so deep fried that several didn’t have cheese in them, don’t worry, they still serve you empty breading and put those at the bottom intentionally. The fries looked like they pulled them out of the bathtub they were so limp and greasy. Asked for fresh fries they said I “have I have to send my entire plate back” I said just get me fries. Nope, they wanted the soggy a$$ fries back so they could quickly re-fry them and then say I should have asked for well done fries if I wanted them crispy. Like who the eff orders limp fries? I’ll take an order of soft, greasy potatoes. Stank eyes from the cooks and I stank eyed right back because the dude should be ashamed of calling this a “gyro” tried stuffing half an onion on it so it looked full. Just pathetic to serve up 4 little slices of pre cooked meat. I get this Leo’s, but it used to be legit! Unfortunately this location has gone down hill over the last few years. This isn’t a one off bad time experience, it’s progressively gotten worse and it irritates me that they’re fine taking money for half making food and expecting people to just be satisfied with it. Told the kids they couldn’t have a refill on their sprite but they’ll bring out a water. Thanks for the 3 oz of pop with an iceberg in a cup, I could have paid for another pop for the kids but can’t even do that because the rules are so rigid. The server was a nice young dude, but he certainly gave the impression that he had marching orders to follow. Do yourself a favor and pass by this location. (Also it wasn’t just me having a hangry day, others around were sending food back left and right)"
