"Very disappointed in the Apple Orchard Salad I picked up tonight. It was a last minute decision and I typically LOVE this salad when I get it from Highland House. When I picked it up I asked the cashier if they had anything a little greener. It looked very anemic (putting it mildly). I also asked if they make it with Romaine (like the label says), because it looked like the stalks of iceberg. He assured me it was a good mix of the two and handed me one from the back counter. When I got it home it is literally the lettuce that I throw out when making a salad and ALL iceberg. The red bagged apples were actually more green! I can’t think of a single person who who eat this, let alone serve it! It would be very generous to say there is 1 full oz of chicken in this salad! I will not be going back!"

"I'm really confused as to why so many people rate this restaurant so high. We moved here from the city a year ago and I've tried this place a number of times and each time is worse than the last. The ribs are fatty, the chicken lacks any kind of seasoning, the tomato sauce they put in the mostaccioli has a very odd flavor to it, the pizza was undercooked, and the BBQ sauce they have leaves a putrid aftertaste. The only saving grace are the bread sticks which are truthfully amazing. Save yourself a bad meal and just pick up a bag of bread sticks."

"We ordered from here at least 3 times a week. We'd get the large 1-3 topping pizzas for 10 dollars, 2 at a time at least. Now, the same pizza costs you 17 dollars. It's one thing to raise the prices, but this feels like a gouge! It's a shame, and we will miss ordering from here."

"The best breadsticks and garlic cheese dip that you can get around the area. I believe you can drop in anytime to grab a bag of bread, so if you have never tried them, at least do that. Sometimes we will pickup a bag just to provide a carb to whatever meal we are eating that night, like homemade pasta or a simple home cooked salmon meal. The breadsticks are always warm, buttery and with enough garlic salt to keep you wanting more. Pizzas are decent, I wish the type of cheese they used would be more melty, but the flavors are all there, toppings taste fresh and abundant. They have a few locations around the area, the original further down m-59, carry-out in white lake, carry-out in Clarkston, as well as sister restaurants like Gus' and Tomato Bros in other areas of the state. All with the same breadsticks."

"The service was ok, except the person who took my phone order misunderstood. They completely missed a meal I ordered. The broasted chicken, like broiled and roasted combined, was good and can feed more than one person. The meal is large, two chicken sides, a wing and a leg. Also with the meal was a side Greek salad, small pasta (or other options of sides), and six delicious bread sticks. I could make a whole meal of the bread sticks alone. The cafe and carry out is a side business of the original sit down restaurant down the street. A sit down area is inside for a quick bite. They do have a grad and go section for salads, or you can place orders at the counter or ahead by phone."
