RED BOWL

"Very Americanized chinese food, sauces are overtly sweet and odd tasting, way too thick and just generally unpleasant. I tried once in the restaurant and than tried again through uber eats. My food arrived cold and gloopy and when I came in it was also very unpalatable. I was very disappointed as I had heard this was the same family who ran the old China Yi Wang by Burton and Eastern from many years ago, I see why they appeal to the area they are in now, but it's just not for my taste buds. I also noticed when I dined in that the restaurant had a foul smell, it was fishy and slightly sewage like, not strong, but it was just......there. It made it extremely difficult to sit inside and eat and I left quite quickly. I won't be back here."

"My favorite Chinese food place in town. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve had there but I absolutely love their bourbon chicken. They are quick and thoughtful and know my order as soon as they see me"

"Yikes. The crab rangoons taste like there is a significant amount of powdered sugar in there. I ordered bourbon chicken, there was nothing bourbon about it. It was a sickly sweet fake honey glaze, no seasoning of any kind and raw carrots. For $16. Whenever you hear someone giving this place a great rec, give them a big ol side eye. Expensive, cheap food."

"I am always in the mood for Chinese takeout. Red Bowl is pretty good. Have ordered takeout from here 3 or so times within the past year. Here are my takeaways: orange chicken is solid - good meat to breading ratio and has a good flavor with a bit of spice. Sesame chicken has great flavor, not too sweet. Fried rice isn't my favorite - I like the larger chunks of onion but there is a bit of old pan flavor to the rice, if that makes sense... I typically opt for white rice but the fried isn't the worst I've had. Rangoon is above average comparatively for GR - good amount of crab cheese filling and the flavor is great. Overall, 4 stars. If the fried rice was better I would have given 5. It's your standard Chinese takeout joint with competitive pricing (lunch special under $10.50)."

"Does GR know what they have in this place? Seldom is the Chinese take-out restaurant that has REAL vegan choices. (Regular “vegetarian” dishes at chinese take-outs have meat ‘stock’ in them!) Was in town for a month. Ordered 3 times. Consistent. Once sat in with friends. Order online and pickup. Simple. Taste, presentation, organization, portions, friendliness....parking lot in back with entrance... all get 5 stars from me."
