"I'm only giving this terrible school, summer camp and their logic one star because I can't leave no stars. In 2017 summer I have found this camp thinking it would be a great environment for my at the time 4 year old daughter for the remainder of their summer camp, so she would've attended for three weeks and o half days 12:30 -3:30pm I believe. I've paid in advance for those weeks in full without being told about any financial and return policy. Not that I was looking for a return hence the reason I paid in full. My daughter had suddenly gotten sick during the last week of camp which she did not attend. I called that same week to speak to their financial advisor Karen Trenne about my balance for return since my daughter was not there and would not be attending for the summer 2018. However I was shut down and told that my $150 could not be refunded and they will put it on account for her to attend 2018 after I told them she wouldn't be attending. I called again today May 3,2018 to discuss the same topic furthermore explaining why she would not be attending because her father, my husband is in the military and we are in Virginia. She told me that they don't do refunds for the summer, and she pretty sure someone told me they don't do refunds which they did not otherwise I wouldn't have paid in advance- common sense. I also wasn't expecting my daughter to get sick, but what parent does. She continually suggests for our family to come back to Michigan to use the account. Which I said and feel is "bull" because my family is stationed in Virginia and we will not be returning to Michigan! I even suggested giving my account balance to a child in need for summer camp. She was very nonchalant and chuckled saying "I've never heard of that before," trying to explain to me that by doing this summer camp they actually lose money and that's why they cannot refund me. THEY ARE MONEY HUNGRY!!! Besides the refund being an issue, everyday while dropping my daughter off she would tell me she didn't want to go because the teacher and kids were mean to her. One time when I picked her up I was watching her playing by herself with the dollhouse and then watched the staff member walk all the way from across the room to belittle my child for no reason at all. She was playing just like the other children just by herself. The teacher would always hold my daughter's hand and make her sit by her as if she was some problem child. I would always ask "how was she today? "Because up until then she was home schooled. Ms. Beth always replied "She was great and very bright. Always asking questions and having answers to her questions that she ask the rest of the class. That most topics that the class covered my daughter already knew. " School environments, camps, recreation centers and any extra curricular activities especially involving children should always feel welcoming, and children should be supported and lifted to become bigger and better to reach deep within their full potential. My 5 year old daughter wants to become a heart surgeon and she will be."
"If your child has even the slightest issues going on anxiety, depression, even if there just a 5 year old that has temper tantrums DO NOT send them to this school. My son (5 years old) was just told that if his physiological issues don't go away in two weeks that I would need to find another school for him. Today was his last day."
"this school is awful, i was being bullied for 1 1/2 years here, i got a block of ice thrown at my face, i told the teachers and they did absolutely nothing to help, they didn't even talk to the students who threw it. then i got my pants pulled down, i pulled them up and pushed the person back and yell, "WHATS YOUR PROBLEM" and i got in trouble for yelling and the other person didn't even get talked to then these two girls when out of there way to slander me and say im a sexual predator, they only got suspended for 1 day because they said the teachers wont do s**t, thats why. please DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE, THEY DONT HELP WITH WORK OR WHEN YOUR STRESSED OR WHEN YOUR BEING BULLIED i wish i left the school sooner"
"Want to know how great this school is? Visit for a tour and check out the alumni board to see how its graduates are helping make the world a better place."
"This school is truly a gift to both my child and our whole family. You will not find another school with teachers and administration so committed and supportive of their families and children. They always place the child's best interest first in decisions they make. My child has grown tremendously due to this amazing learning environment. As a multicultural family, the diversity of the student and staff body was attractive to us. The diverse student and staff body allows for rich cultural lessons in the classroom and beautiful multicultural school events like the Cultural Festival. An outstanding school!"
