"This place has really been turning around lately. The atmosphere has is up, especially when I see the employees having a great time and interacting positively together. "While the restaurant is a nice space, food is well-priced, and our pizza tasted good, we were very grossed out last night by how messy the restaurant was. Trash bins were overflowing (they did get emptied while we were dining in), but workers put trash, dirty pans and utensils etc under a prep station that was visible to customers and did not seem to be organized or clean at all. The person making our food was fumbling around looking for a place to put dirty or empty containers of toppings. The floor and prep area that our pizza was made on were both filthy and we did not see anyone wipe anything down or make an attempt to mop or sweep at all. My fiancé was also given the “stink eye” when he politely asked for one to go box when we didn’t finish our pizza (I think because it was the last box and the restaurant either ran out or the employees didn’t want to make more boxes). I’m bummed because the other Mod Pizza in Grand Rapids was awesome when it first opened around 2017ish and I hadn’t been to one since and was very much looking forward to visiting again. Safe to say we won’t be back to this location. Clearly lacks poor management and I’m not sure things are up to health code."
"Excellent pizza! The mod size is perfect (if you're hungry) for 1 but definitely sharable for two. Being priced on the size instead of the toppings is also great as it allows you to try different combinations without breaking the bank. The crust itself is thin and crispy but also chewy. Had the taste of good homemade pizza which I was pretty happy about. Also got one of their no name cakes and they are delicious."
"This location was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Joey was a stand out. The idea of a subway/qdoba style of pizza place for me is a great idea. The food was great, fast and the atmosphere was nice. Its cool to see the pizza made and placed into an over in front of you. Lots of topping options and sauces too. My kids enjoyed everything also. Bathrooms were nice."
