"My partner and I came here for lunch on valentines day, and I've been thinking about this meal almost daily since. I got the fried catfish and black eyed peas, both of which were incredible. I want to cuss for emphasis, but I'll refrain I... honestly have no idea where the lower star reviews came from. Truly people will have their own experiences, but ours could not have been better."

"AMAZING!!! This food is to die for! The restaurant itself is cute and the service was very friendly and welcoming! The okra and the remoulade are crazy good! Anytime we're in town, we'll be sure to come back. This is absolutely a must try!!"

"The atmosphere was nice. When we went in, no one was greeting us. There were two people and one was talking to a leaving customer and another person was leaning on the counter leaving us awkwardly standing for a few minutes. I was disappointed with the food especially the hot chicken sandwich. The sauce was too overpowering that I couldn't taste the bread, pickle, lettuce or tomato. It wasn't spicy hot but it tasted like it was drowned in vinegar. Other food was salty but again because of the hot chicken sauce I couldn't taste anything."

"Very disappointed, tried this place out for the first time because pics looked great online , good reviews and I loved the ambiance. Only the ambiance gets the 3 star rating. Customer service was eh, no greeting, a worker sitting in a booth just shouted for me to sit anywhere. I ordered Fried chicken with cognac hot sauce, but that was all i ate on my platter, it was average, tasted like regular buffalo sauce. Mac n cheese was horrible, super mushy, overcooked and hardly any noodles! Just cheese! The hush puppies were super dark compared to other photos, they were dense and doughy on the inside. I ordered a sweet tea that was nothing but sugar, no tea, couldn’t drink that either. Literally only ate one item I ordered, the chicken, very very disappointing."

"I visit family in GR a couple times a year and have been looking forward to trying Forty Acres Soul Kitchen for quite a while. We got fried green tomatoes, the brisket breakfast plate and the fried catfish plate. We also had an order of chicken wings that were so good I forgot to get a pic lol. I'm picky about brisket and find that a lot of places don't do it right, so I was very surprised when I tasted my husband's! It was REALLY good! My catfish had just the right amount of crispy cornmeal coating on it and was perfectly done and meaty. I thought the greens had a really nice flavor, something a little extra I can't put my finger on. I usually prefer them with vinegar, but didn't even think about it while eating these. I put my sweet potatoes on top of the big piece of cornbread and drizzled the last of the jalapeno syrup from our wings on it and.....yeah....that made me do my happy food dance lol. The place was clean, the staff was friendly and the Sunday brunch was the perfect start to our day."
