"Went to dinner here with a local recently and was told how good the food was. He was correct but should have also mentioned the friendly and knowledgeable staff. our Waitress Madeline was great and so was my meal. While the decor is pretty much what I expected for a small village restaurant/bar, the place was clean enough and the charm was obvious! Pretty extensive menu for such a small town, so it took me a while to decide. I look forward to my return visits in the future to try more of their menu selections. I liked their twist on a chicken Parmesan pasta dish. Different from any I've ever had before, not really traditional but VERY GOOD for a nice change! Hand battered deep fried chicken breast pieces were the pleasant differences in the non traditional entree!"
"There's this small town restaurant and bar in Hersey, named River Junction. Hersey is only 2 or 3 miles off M10, close to Reed City, and west or Evart, make a turn south at 180th Ave. I will say, as many places as I have eaten a meal, this little town haven is one of the better! Honestly! The prices are reasonable, and the food a plenty. Staff is friendly and very good at customer service! Don't let the dark environment fool you, it's cozy and friendly! Hersey is one of those drive through places, but you just have to stop! You can feel the history! There should be a museum here!! I wish there was! It's not a perfect town, but are any anymore. It's home to some old timer farmers, but it's rich in what it was. The restaurant is a must experience! Classic country playing on the speakers, squeaky saloon doors, knotty pine walls deeply rich coloring from the years of business. Go to it! You will want to come again!"
"We went on Halloween so it was nice to see the decorations and all the staff in costume. Service was amazing and we wanted for nothing. Thank you for a great meal."
"My husband and I went here for dinner; we never knew hersey had a restaurant lol we are NOT disappointed one bit. The food fit the bill and was phenomenal! We got the jalapeno popper cheese dip, fried pickle chips, he got the crispy chicken wrap, and I got the river monster burger with pepper jack cheese and jalapeno slices. YUM! the staff was friendly and attentive; the place ran very smoothly especially with there only being 1 cook, 1 bar tender, and 1 waitress/hostess and having about half the restaurant full of customers! This was a GREAT find!"
