"They were pretty busy. I got a Houston Skillet with a biscuit and Stuffed French Toast. FOOD: The sausage gravy and breakfast potatoes were tasty! I think the skillet could've been assembled better. The ingredients were not mixed, not much bacon, and not enough sausage gravy. The stuffed french toast was not crispy on the outside. The biscuit was undercooked. SERVICE: The employee taking my order over the phone was nice. I was told I would get a text when my order was ready, but I never received anything. No condiments or utensils in my bag. The whole process was admittedly quick."
"We love this place! Service is friendly and the food is delicious. Highly recommend both the omelettes and skillets. Our guests recently had the stuffed hash browns and loved them."
"The Broken Egg is by far the best breakfast experience I have ever had. This place has the cutest farmhouse aesthetic and plays great country music. Took a trip to Muskegon for 3 days and we came here all 3 mornings. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. HIGHLY recommend."
"I'm just going to start by saying this was one of the best dine in breakfasts I've ever had. And that's saying a lot because going out for breakfast/brunch is my favorite weekend activity, so I've had a lot of breakfast foods. When we arrived there was a wait and a cluster of people sitting by the entrance. This is both a good and bad thing because a line means you're in for a treat if people are willing to wait for the food, but it's bad because crowding around a door is awkward. Once we were seated it took a little bit for our server to come over for drink orders, but as I mentioned before they were quite busy. Our server was absolutely lovely! Very sweet with really good people skills. The menu is on the smaller side with few dedicated strictly "vegetarian" options (there's a veggie omelette and then the griddle options), but I do suspect most anything could be altered to preference. The only thing I was really missing is a "Tex Mex" option because that's my absolute favorite breakfast genre (but that's not their fault). We got the strawberry stuffed French toast, a side of scrambled eggs, a side of their famous potatoes, and an order of pancakes. We waited a long time for the food to come out (again they were busy), but it was WORTH IT. This food felt like it was "home made." Obviously they have cooks preparing it, but the quality feels like you're getting something made special by your grandma. When someone says food is "made with love" this is the way it should taste. This food was incredible. First of all their regular coffee was really good, fresh and hot. The pancakes were dinner plate size with just the right ratio of fluffy to chewy texture. The scrambled eggs were satisfying. I already know that the famous potatoes with their house dipping sauce are going to be something I crave. The potatoes are seasoned perfectly and the dip is the perfect creamy, tangy accent. This gave me a little of that Tex Mex feel I was going for...so an egg dish with these flavors would be incredible for me. But the absolute STAR of the meal was the Stuffed French Toast. Todays flavor was strawberry cheesecake and it was phenomenal. The filling is sweet and creamy, but the French Toast itself is crispy on the outside. It had a fantastic crunch that paired so well with the sweet, creamy filling it made for a decadent experience. They change the flavor of this weekly, and our server said past flavors have included cinnamon nutmeg and blueberry lemon both of which sound incredible. The restaurant also serves breakfast cocktails like mimosas and bloody Marys, but they also have spiked coffees. I will try these next time for sure."
