Reviews of Meijer
"Meijer is one of the first grocery stores I remember going to as a young child. They used to have more fun stuff for kids when I was younger. It was like a Meijer kids week (or something like that), and you could play games, and get prizes. I remember winning a gold fish a couple of times!!! I honestly think if you do more fun things for kids and families, it will bring in more people who may not have shopped there regularly, if at all. Hopefully it will make them love Meijer as much as my family and I do, and keep them coming back! Also, I really miss you being open 24 hours. I have always been a second shifter, and with you only being open until midnight since COVID, my normal grocery routine is totally gone now. Now I have to shop when it is super crowded, and full of giant 45 minute lines to wait in to get to a register and check out. I don't understand why you can't go back to your normal hours that you had for so very long. Please, go back to being open 24/7????? Maybe it will get all the other stores who did the same thing to go back to being open 24/7 too!!"
"Apparently there is a new policy in place during the holiday season where if you have more than three gift cards you must use the customer service checkout because it holds up the other lines. I had 15 Starbucks gift cards I needed to purchase. Waited in the long normal checkout line for ten minutes. Got up to second in line and the cashier said I had to go to customer service now. I got to wait again in that line. Fantastic guest communication. No policy anywhere visible to the public stating this. I would be completely fine if I knew prior to waiting in line the first time. Also, the customer service counter is closed at 8pm. I'm sure there are people that will need gift cards after that time, what do you do with them? I live two blocks from this store and frequent it regularly, but they have been grinding my gears lately with mismanagement. Get it together!"
"Your shop and go cashier attendants have the brain capacity of a walnut. My two items in "Shop and Go" were apparently too encumbering to use that line and was transitioned to normal checkout. While I stood in line for S&G, it was held up by individuals that had no clue what they were doing and was checking out slower than the worst cashier at Aldi. I sat there long enough I could have walked a lap around the store yet I'm pushed out because of my two items? I finished in regular checkout before the S&G line even budged. I just simply wanted to utilize the new member bonus points with S&G and instead of using the moment to explain and teach the S&G, the employee shuffled me away without explanation for someone with a overfilled cart. I work for Aldi where customers come first and we take the time to help educate customers. I work our curbside program and find it pathetic you call that fast checkout fast yet remove those that actual have fast items. It doesn't matter if they weren't prescanned in the app, I'd have ran circles around these individuals. Now I'm out my bonus points along with distrust to try the new system. I understand now why customers are scared to try out new self checkout systems when other companies fail to educate and help customers."
"I had an excellent experience shopping at my local Meijer store. The store was clean and well-organized, making it easy to find everything I needed. The staff was friendly and helpful, and they went out of their way to assist me when I had questions. The selection of products was impressive, with a wide variety of options in every department. Additionally, the prices were competitive, and I appreciated the convenience of being able to do my grocery shopping and pick up household essentials all in one place. Overall, I highly recommend my local Meijer store for its great service and selection."
"I have shopped at Meijer for years! Love this store! Fully stocked shelves, price scanners located throughout store, clean shopping carts and clean store! Lots of parking, 90% frendly employees, produce is checked frequently, butcher and bakery available, horse rides that cost one penny! Things I don't like: After Covid the dressing/fitting rooms are gone. I like to try things on before I buy it and this is very inconvenient. I no longer buy clothes here for myself. I wish they had more available for men's big and tall. I also am not a fan of the new rewards system. Hard to navigate the app now. I like the Mperks from before that were available without clipping and whatever else has to be done first."
