"This is s local bar in Houghton Lake. The atmosphere is typical if a friendly place to hang out. The staff was very friendly and constantly checking on us to make sure we had what we needed. The burger is one of the better bar burgers I have had in some time and the fries were hot and tasty as well. Nice place to hand out with friends for a beer and burger."
"Would give 0 stars if I could! I had 2 drinks while trying to enjoy myself, the first drink was paid for in cash, (the bartender that served my first drink was a sweetheart, so this doesn’t apply to her!) the second drink was brought to me by the lady that was serving. When I was finished with my drink I asked for my bill, to which the server had no idea who ordered what. Server was trying to stick me with other peoples drink and food tabs, I understand it gets hectic at times so I wasn’t worried about it at first, I just wanted to make sure I paid my bill. When I told the server “no I only owe you for the one drink” she LOST her mind and started cursing and yelling at me, throwing her hands in the air, shaking like a crazy person . Server is clearly not capable of handing the stress off of the local watering hole, it’s a shame that due to that experience I definitely won’t be back, or recommend others to visit. I was mind blown at how rude the server was. She then proceeded to charge me $14 for the same drink I paid $7 for literally 20 minutes prior, charged me for 3 drinks? UNREAL. I would be EMBARRASSED to be this woman’s employer."
"I've been visiting this bar for over 20yrs, starting back in the days of Marv & Diane, the previous owners. I started visiting because of my friendship with them, but all these years later, i definitely make an effort to visit The Pressure Crack every single time I am up at our family cabin in Roscommon. With that being said, my husband & I were just there last week for an afternoon drink and a bite to eat and the service was absolutely amazing, the food was great, and the ladies that were working that day were so very friendly and exactly what I would hire at the bar I manage in Detroit. I wish I could clone them & bring them back with me! The Pressure Crack Pub is a great place with interesting and friendly customers & a great staff!! Keep up the good work ladies!! (& the male cook, I don't know his name, but I loved my lunch!) See you next month!"
"I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at this restaurant! The waitress was great about checking in on us at the right times, the food came out fast, and the food was also so delicious. The onion rings were only $5 and they were the crispiest I’ve ever had. The pressure crack burger was also really good, and they give you a large amount of fries with it. Good for two meals for the price of one! They definitely give you a good amount of food for what they charge you. The only thing is, this is more of a bar than a grill type of restaurant so I would not recommend this place for families with children. But if you’re looking for a place to go with a couple friends or a night out, look no further! Also the rum and coke was delicious!"
"My wife and I each ordered the infamous house-made, “Pressure Crack Burger” and it did not disappoint. The ingredients aren’t overwhelmingly wild but the flavor is excellent. I.e. 1/2 burger, bacon, Swiss and American cheese, mustard, mayo, lettuce. The setting itself was like a bar locals attend, with a corner group of guys near the business entrance that were quite rowdy, which was distracting for sure. Honestly, the one guy’s behavior (on memorial weekend in the evening, thus drunk) was uncalled for and the servers behind the bar showed the disapproval on their faces. My wife and I, however, were treated well, with timely but not obnoxious check-ins from our waitress. Overall the food was excellent! I also had a Sam Adam’s Cherry Wheat beer they had on tap, and it was top notch, alongside my burger and an enormous amount of crispy fries we were served. The music was a good mix of oldies rock and some Elvis mixed in. I was quite frustrated with the loud and obnoxious corner crowd, but that wasn’t really the bar’s fault. As a bar owner, I would’ve been on the edge of having the police remove the one man for disorderly conduct they way he was behaving, but that could be a bad look for business. I certainly wouldn’t let one instance on a very busy weekend distract from going back there in the future! To summarize: the food was awesome |the onion ring appetizer, to the burger and fries, and beer| the music was good, and the waitress (though dressed a bit edgy) was extremely kind and attentive, and the food wasn’t a very long wait. Definitely recommend!"
