"Food was pretty good, but found a BOLT in my salad. When I told the waitress there was a bolt, she was confused and lowkey thought we put it in there. Other food was okay.. service was eh. Waitress didn’t come to the table very much and when I asked for a box at the end of the meal, she proceeded to not come back to our table. Big boys are normally good when it comes to food and service, but this experience was definitely not. Will not be going back here. If you want to go somewhere where your teeth aren’t going to be a liability, then I suggest going to a different place to eat."
"I just came from there today and I was with my wife and kids and nephews. They sat us at a table that had dirty menus and seemed oblivious when I pointed it our. I had to whip out my babies baby wipes to clean them. The biggest issue was the server asking if my son(who knocked over his chair accidentally) if he was a monkey as shes gettingour drink order. Mind you we're the only black family in the establishment. Didn't even get to order was disgusted at the alleged innocent comment. Immediately left."
"The day after Thanksgiving We had breakfast and lunch The restaurant was crowded of course but the staff seemed overwhelmed. I really don't like to relate bad experiences to racism however it seems as if this was the case. We were a party of six and everyone of us had issues with the service and missing food items, cold soup and fries. Waitress talking loud to us but not to her other tables. She had a impatient resting face the majority of the time. She would walk away from the table so fast, not giving the table enough time to tell her everything that was needed or she would try to not make eye contact as if we were bothering her with our request. Granted the quality and speed of the food is not the responsibility of the waiter or waitress, we did notice that no other tables waited 45 minutes close to an hour to get their food. I will just say that this was one of my worst experiences ever at a Big Boy restaurant. We usually tip the 20 - 25% or more but this time no so. Actually I left out the restaurant before my husband paid because I totally agree with him but also I knew that is what they was thinking in the first place. I have heard this comment so often " black people don't tip " In fact we do tip and expect the same service and food quality that other people receive. No more or no less."
"It's been years since eating at a Big Boy but we're on our last hurrah for the year camping out at Irons. We wondered up to Traverse city and hung out at the beach. After that came here and had a fairly good meal."
