"$28 for a 6oz tenderloin in the north woods is quite pricey. For being one of, if not the most expensive steaks in the area, you would think it would be fantastic. Unfortunately, our steaks were nothing but gristle. Most of which we had to spit out into our napkins as we were unable to chew them enough to swallow. Salad bar is decent. Gizzards were great."

"Tried Nimrod for the first time after recommendations from others and we were disappointed. The broasted chicken was dry and the salad bar was small compared to Hilltop's. We'll continue to frequent Hilltop now that we've tried Nimrod."

"Stopped here for lunch, not very crowded, ate at the bar. Atmosphere: Typical Up North bar and grill. Food: Above average bar food burger and fries. ***UPDATE*** Stopped for dinner the day after lunch. Had the Tenderloin and Ribs combo and both were fantastic. They have a simple but fresh and good salad bar, including soup and gizzards (yuck). Dinner came with a loaf of bread, which was probably the weak part of the meal. Bravo Nimrods, great dinner."

"Had the Sunday family style chicken dinner with salad bar. The whole atmosphere was absolutely amazing. The old fashioneds are great. I got whiskey sour with mushrooms, husband got whiskey sweet with mushrooms. We want to go back to try the prime rib on Saturday. The staff was awesome. Our waitress Alex was so good and sweet. The bartender was super nice and the owners husband chatted with us for awhile. I highly recommend this place."
