Elk & Hound Restaurant

"Horrible. Get their and wait 5 minutes before I see a hostess. Hostess tells me 5-10 minute wait for a table for 3 without a reservation. Had no problem with that at all. So me and my kids wait well over a half hour just to be told that it would be at least another 20 minutes because they had 2 server's walk out. I was not waiting! While waiting I watched the hostess ignore and walk by people who were waiting multiple times. Half of the staff I see running around looked hopped up drugs. Zipping around and twisting like they forgot something only to twist back around. Almost ever time I seen them they acted like that. The parking lot wasn't even close to being full, and I know they can run a larger compasity of customers than what they were running. And the fact that they had 2 server's walk out of them shows that they might need to treat their employees better, especially with a job market like it is, jobs being hard to find it probably too a lot for these two servers to just walk out like that. I hold the establishment responsible for our poor experience. This is supposed to be a well maintained, higher class establishment and is not run like such. It's sad, cause they've lost my business in a small community."

"Nice place able to accommodate our group of 9 easily. Food and service was good. Small soup and salad bar was excellent, small but had all the right stuff. Plenty of parking."

"Only thing that was super good was the cheese curds. We waited forever to get our food. Our waitress kept disappearing. It wasn’t too busy inside. My partner and I both felt sick after our hamburger. It seems like a place with a nice view and good drinks. Don’t try to eat here. I had multiple better experiences in town."

"Our family was spending the night in the area and this was the recommended family restaurant in the area. I'm so happy that we went!!! We were greeted right away and all the staff was amazing with our young and energetic boys. Our server Amber really made an impression and was simply amazing!! Food was delicious and had the best salad bar I've been to in years! Will definitely be back if the opportunity arises in the future!"

"We were going through this town and looking for a place to eat with our two boys that wasn’t a bar-like atmosphere. We found Elk & Hound on google search. It was a Monday evening and I was thankful they were open as many places in the area were closed. We arrived in the nick of time, as a storm was rolling in and all the golfers were coming to eat as well (it is a golf course restaurant). The waitstaff were all running to keep up with the rush of people. They checked on us often and apologized for us having to wait, although you could tell that they were extremely busy. We were able to get a table quickly, the salad bar was phenomenal and despite having a the max capacity at the bar and restaurant,the salad bar was constantly tending to and full. The spring mix was fresh, soups were tasteful and unique, and the side salads were delicious! I could have filled up on just the salad bar! We got our food and it was all hot and plentiful! My son, a 9 year old picky eater, said it was the best burger he’s ever had! My husband and I both got a different baked white fish recipe and they were great! I will definitely be back when I go through town again. The customer service was top notch. The atmosphere was really kind of cool quirky with some unique fireplaces and the dining hall was welcoming. Thanks for a great experience!"
