Akron Sports Car Club

The Akron Sports Car Club, located at 1531 High Tower Drive in Uniontown, Ohio, has been a prominent fixture in the Northeast Ohio automotive community since 1953. Known nationally as one of the premier car clubs in the country, the ASCC has produced numerous national driving champions in road racing and autocross, as well as professional drivers and product evaluators.

The club hosts a variety of events each month, including autocross, rallies, car shows, track days, and karting. With a focus on collaboration with tire, car, brake, and suspension manufacturers, the ASCC also organizes private and corporate events, driver schools, and promotional ads. The club is currently involved in partnerships with Optima Batteries, UMI Performance, and Summit Racing Equipment for various driving events.

Autocross events are held at various locations with course designs ranging from .75 to 1.25 miles in length, with run times averaging around 85 seconds. The club follows SCCA Solo rules for class and modifications, with separate classes competing for cash and prizes. Members have the option to opt out of working the course, unlike traditional autocross groups.

The club's home track at Dragway 42 offers an elevated viewing area for spectators, as well as on-site restrooms and food trucks. Events typically begin around 9:30am, with the Challenge concluding around 4:30pm for qualifying participants. Participants can expect long and fast courses, with an average run time of 85 seconds. The ASCC is dedicated to providing an exciting and rewarding experience for all participants.
