"I just recently took on a contract for them doing the logistics system for a maternity leave agent. While in office I was ridiculed, discriminated against, and denied properly training from two friends. I trained and learned the system within one day. Ask I asked the trainer Stacey to slow down just pressing buttons to move fast through my training so that I could see what options needed to be used when prompted by the system. Stacey continued to say she would show me later. After I learned the bottom pressed and asked questions, because the system then went in to other options once the prompted button was used. Stacey pretended (or just did not have good comprehension) to questions asked. Every question I asked Stacey initially said NO then would follow up with I sorry I didn’t hear you say it again. The supervisor Kim and her were friends and if Stacey didn’t like something she would yell out HR and they both would begin laughing. As the only African American in the entire office I felt uncomfortable. Kim no longer was friendly or spoke with me, but laughed and joked with every other employee she managed. Kim then began being very stern and requested I leave on a Friday, while all workers in the section were checking phones and had told me that production slows on Friday. Once Kim left she asked me to leave. I asked Kim if this was a suggestion or was she telling me to leave she reinforced that she was telling me to leave. I wrote Brian the operation manager a detailed email of my encounters in office of what happened to me. I have not heard word from him of the incident. I was able to keep up with all staff in a matter of 3-4 days. The Staffers Kim had been employed for 20 years and Stacey for 6 years. Ascent staffers thinks that there are not more capable computer literate employees. In a technical world where multiple people who have grow up operating computers since the beginning of their school age Ascent is in for a rude awakening. Kim became began to scrutinize me so much one of the days she missed out on two very important deliveries for companies while playing games with her co worker Stacey. While training me one one particular day Stacey kept being inattentive to where she laughed and played all day and told staff supervisor Kim and staffer Nick they would need to do a job in the system. They both advised her they already on top of this job. Stacey not a supervisor or actual trainer or team lead seemed to take being friends with Kim to a ultimate level of authority. It was hard to tell who was the supervisor for Stacey was extremely aggressive in duties and assignments over all staff in the area. Kim seemed not to mind. Stacey even would tell Kim( supervisor) to leave at the end of her shift Kim obligated. At one point Stacey after knowing when my scheduled lunch time was asked me to stay to finish a task although my supervisor Kim was on lunch and had told me what time my schedule lunch was presented. Stacey felt she had enough authority to tell me to stay to finish a task after this said time. After I finished this due to not wanting to anger the masses. I contacted the contractor to advise of the ordeal for reason of discrepancies in time for return to receive a full hour time. When I return from lunch Stacey still had not completed her tasks of a different client that were shorter in need than what I had before lunch. So, me staying over defeated the purpose and only seemed to be to fulfill her ego. I advised Kim the day she asked me to leave and wrote a email to Brain the operation manager. I explained I didn’t know why I was asked to leave the office when all staff were sitting idle on that Friday from slow production and that as I had offered to take on the position. I was expected to be in for full hours for payment and that I would not take another check being shorted for reasons not fulfilling our stated agreement. By Wednesday of the following Kim had become so agitated in natural. I asked her if this was not working to please notify me. I was then told things would not work out."
"This is the only way to ship! These folks act as brokers between shipper and receiver and are totally customer-focused. If there are any problems with a shipment, they step right in and get it handled and have the resources and knowledge to make that happen. Especially in these post-Covid times when everyone is short on employees and the carriers are struggling to keep their machinery running with supply-chain issues, these are the folks you want to have working on your behalf! My guess is the some reviewers who did not review them well may not understand that Ascent is not the actual carrier and is there to assist them in this way."
"I try to book a freight from Seattle Washington to Sumner Washington back to seattle that pays around $1000, when I accepted the rate I gave them my mc number the lady broker said my mc is deactivated with fmcsa which is complete lie, back I have been booking freight from brokers without any problem the previous day, and my status with fmcsa showed active as of now, and she mentioned 411 complaint that was from 4 years ago that exist anymore it was my work against the other brokers word, all of this was scapegoat, as soon as she heard my name was Mohamed her mood changed, and started making up false information, and compliance department has no problem with my company at all I came to find out that she is Prejudice towards the Mohamed name, people like her will never succeed, she as very judgmental."
"Terrible customer service. My company was charged twice for the amount promised for shipping, the second charge being applied directly to my debit card without my consent 180 days after delivery. After multiple emails, calls, and unreturned voice mails I finally received word that they "apologize for the inconvenience" but are unwilling to rectify the situation. Find someone else who actually cares about small businesses and ethical business practices as your logistics partner--these folks are not trustworthy."
