"Had an excellent service call from Zachary (Sal's technician) this morning. He was able to diagnose the problem (furnace not turning on) and make the necessary corrections to get me up and running in about an hours time. Seemed quite knowledgeable and was familiar with the furnace and heat pump. Highly recommended."
"Had a Water tank that failed on me. I called the manufacturer and they provided Sal's to do the warranty replacement. Even though this was just a warranty replacement that came out the same day did a fantastic job removing the failed tank with little mess, replaced it and did a much better job than the original installer that put it in 2 years ago. I would highly recommend them for any needs you may have."
"Call d for repair. Told them what the trouble light was doing. Two technicians came and stayed hours claiming he didn’t know exactly what was wrong with furnace. Ended up replacing part under warranty that matched the trouble code I given them but also charged $450 dollars because it took two technicians all day to make the half hour repair. When I inquired what the charges were for he said they were trying to figure out what made the part fail? Then when they left the furnace wasn’t put together all the way (which I have pictures)and the one part he claimed he cleaned is now broken. When I got a call asking how visit went I explained and the only solution was sorry for the poor service. As I explained to that person on the follow up call. I won’t use Sals again and I’ve told everyone at my work and family and friends to beware and don’t use them. So to all reading reviews beware of poor service and shotty technicians."
"December of last year, my heat went out when we had those negative temperatures. I called Sal's and they came out on 12/23/22. The gentleman worked on my furnace and eventually had it running. He said "It's running, but you're going to need a new one because if I turn it off—" then he demonstrates by flicking the switch off. He tried to turn it back on and it wouldn't come back on. After about 10min of trying, he declared the furnace officially dead. I was charged $213.84 just for them even coming out. I was also quoted $4,695 for them to install a new furnace. At that moment, it was 32° INSIDE of my house. My pipes burst and my pet snake froze to death. My dad is a handy man and can pretty much fix anything, however, he's up in age and I didn't want to bring him to my house to look at my furnace when it was only 32° in there (which soon dropped to 24°). I got through the rest of the winter using 2 space heaters. That $4600 was a lil' hefty so I decided I'd wait to see if the furnace prices dropped in the summer. The prices didn't budge and this years winter was returning. I decided to call my dad to see if he could have a look at my furnace. He came over and within minutes identified the problem. I ordered a "Universal Pressure Switch" off of Amazon for $32.37. It arrived on 9/30/23 and was installed shortly after. My heat has been consistently working and my house has been at 80° for 3 months straight now. I paid Sal's $200+ for them to come out and NOT fix the problem. The problem was resolved with a $30 piece from Amazon, installed by my dad in like 15min. Deep down, I feel the technician was actually freezing and just wanted to hurry up and get out of my house. It doesn't make sense that he's a professional and couldn't identify the root of the problem or help me out at all, yet my dad discovered the issue within 10min. *EDIT* That 3rd picture is the water in my toilet bowl that was frozen. Updated Review 12/31/23: I initially had a challenging experience with Sal's, but I must commend their outstanding commitment to customer satisfaction. After reading my review, they reached out immediately and addressed the issues, and went above and beyond to rectify a situation that initially occurred a year earlier. The level of service and dedication displayed was truly impressive. I appreciate their efforts, and I'm now happy to update my review to reflect the positive outcome. Thank you for your commitment to customer happiness!"
"Our technician was David Culver. He was very professional and patient with our questions. He did a great job on our repair and was very polite. I have dealt with Sal’s before. We have never had a bad experience. Highly recommended! (This is a continuation to the above comment and service, please read all of it.) After we had the repair mentioned above, our unit completely failed 2 days later. It would not turn on at all. It was a Sunday and also Christmas Eve. I called Sal’s and tried to set up an appointment that day, because my unit is commercial, they could not come out that day without charging for the service call. The on call technician was for residential units only. I work in the service industry. I know how these things work and understand that they can only do so much to make their customers happy and also back their services, but this still upset me. I was not polite when talking to them about the situation. I spoke with the on call technician (I didn’t get his name) and the on call service manager (Joe). They both remained very professional and calm while dealing with my frustrations and attitude. Joe made sure the proper technician was sent out as soon as possible and kept me informed. When the technician (Dave, same tech as before) arrived today he worked quickly and thoroughly. He, again, stayed polite and professional. Even with all of our added frustration and questions. The problem they needed to fix had nothing to do with the prior repair. It was just an old part the went bad. Nothing they could have predicted. Dave replaced the part and didn’t even charge a service fee. Considering it wasn’t an actual warranty call on the previous service, they could have charged us the service fee but chose not to. I am still very pleased with this company and will continue doing business with them. They do not overcharge and they are more professional and polite than most people and companies these days."
