"Run, not walk I mean run in the opposite direction of this guy for anything he will try to scam you out of any money youre willing to give him. Untrustworthy, lies and bounces checks. Had a couple friends have work done that never got completed and was worse than a 1 star. The owner purchased a set of rims from my place of work, and wrote a check (which isn't uncommon) the check bounced and we got ghosted for $1600. Certified letter was sent and he had it sent back. Do a BBB search on this guy and his business , that'll give you all the info you need to not do work with him, or look him up on darke county courts, he has multiple law suits for bounced checks and people going after him for "work" he did on there vehicle in which never got completed but he took money. All I have to say is what a piece of work this guy is. SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! THIS IS YOUR WARNING STAY FAR AWAY!!!!"
"Buyer beware, The name Barberine is synonymous with theft of services, it should be criminal. Lies to your face, does no work, continues to lie. He had my car for 8 months. Was given $6100 in advance for paint and another $3000 for body work. Sanded the car and stopped. Said it would take 31 days and in 8 months did no other work. I picked the car up from a landlord in worse condition than when I dropped it off. Went there many times and never saw work being done. I truly believe he likes ripping people off. Hopefully he never opens another business but if he does, run."
"Do not use this business under any circumstance. A rating of "1 Star" is overly generous. I entrusted a 1984 300ZX for an all-over paint job. It took over there years and constant pressure to get my car out his shop. Mark didn't tag parts he removed from the car, damaged pieces of hard-to-find interior trim, and did a marginal paint job. When Mark finally delivered the car to the upholstery shop in Xenia, he was quick to get my car off his trailer and return to Greenville. In his haste to return to Greenville, he left behind an expensive battery booster pack (which I'm still holding as collateral). I discovered that the bumpers were not fastened, fender wells were not fastened, significant amounts of overspray in the engine compartment, inconsistent spray, the car wasn't clean, painted over surface rust, and there was a significant amount of wet sanding residue on the car. I had to pay the upholstery shop to clean the car before they could perform their work. I showed up at Mark's shop unannounced to attempt to find some of my missing parts (fasteners, window trim, door hardware) and to pick up a paint sample. I did manage to get a paint sample; there was no sign of any of the fasteners and my windshield trim. There's no clear inventory system for parts removed from a project; he's got stuffed stashed in trunks, shelves, and piles around the shop. Mark can't keep employees, and has no process to start and finish a project within an agreed upon schedule. He's quick to make excuses and does nothing to remedy an issue. He blames damage on his employees versus taking personal responsibility. His building is completely full of unfinished projects and there's no room to safely and efficiently work on a project. Personal note. I gave you many opportunities to remedy my project and have been extremely patient with you. I told you exactly what I was going to do if you didn't finish my car to our agreed upon expectation. I suggest you remedy my project if you want to stay in business; you can start by mailing my windshield trim. My next step is to contact the BBB followed by the Darke County Court System. Happy Holidays Glen"
"0 stars not available, but best fit. You don’t need to take my word for it. Just read the reviews. BUT…..They take a deposit and never finish the work. They will wait you out until you choose to repossess your scuffed up unfinished property then they will keep your money. READ THE REVIEWS. Mark will use your new deposits to fund the work he is behind on. He isn’t ashamed of it either. They were OK until they took my third order deposit. I gave Barberines a stack of golf cart bodies and $2100 (full payment for work and paint) on 10-22-21. It has been over a year and I have nothing at all except for 1 body he had laying around that wasn’t part of my order. I spent a couple hours sanding it and polishing it before I could use it. They have finished nothing I gave them. They refuse to pay me back even though I have offered some good solutions trying to put this situation behind us. They are not doing the work I paid for….BUT still painting golf cart bodies for other customers and de-prioritizing my order. Mark compulsively misinformed me about the progress of the work…..So I just starting showing up there. Mark Barberine (the owner) is dishonest….I have caught him lying and confronted him about it in person more than 1 time. In my opinion, Mark Barberine doesn’t see an issue with the way he has treated me or any of his other victims. Excuse after excuse, lie after lie, broken deadlines, and incomplete work. I initially gave him 4 months to complete the work. I have been hearing “they will be done in 2weeks” for the last 7 months. NOW he refuses to reply to my messages or answer my calls. I’m super curious about what Mark will say to this. It seems that most victims review him after they are ripped off. Mark knows he controls the situation with your money and how much he can bill you for the undetermined/extra work when it is finished…..he shrugs at threats of legal action. BUT….after staying silent for over a year….I guess I’d had enough. By leaving this review, Mark (if he ever finishes the work) will make sure that he does so with low effort/quality. I will receive some sort of retaliation, and I’ll keep you all posted on all of it……..on ALL platforms!"
"He took my car for 4 months, sanded the car down and disassembled it/ lost pieces & then I had to show up with a police officer to get my car back. He took $1,750 from me. Wish I’d have never taken my car there. Officer told me he’s not sure why people still do bring their cars to him, that he wishes they didn’t. Don’t go here you’ll be giving away your money and time like you’re in a game of monopoly."
