"Tucked away in the trees, the Winding Springs Vista treehouse was a treat for our family. We had absolutely no other plans outside of exploring the grounds, enjoying the campfire and maybe playing some games. The brook is lovely to listen to as we cooked over the cracking campfire. The treehouse itself has gorgeous views of the surrounding trees, a phenomenal shower and comfortable beds. I stepped out at 5 am and enjoyed a starlit sky above the tree canopy. We saw a lot of chipmunks and two deer ambling by. We would definitely stay again."
"We had the best time on our babymoon! Everything was new and the surroundings were so peaceful. I was nervous I was going to be scared in being in the woods but never felt unsafe and had complete privacy. We enjoyed exploring the grounds and the path to the river. Sitting on the swing below with our coffee and listening to the creek sounds was perfect. Everything was new and clean inside. Perfect staycation getaway!!"
"I’ve had my eye on a treehouse rental for a few years, but the closest ones to us in SE Michigan were southern Ohio and booked almost a year out. I was so excited to hear about Tree Vistas, less than a two hour drive from Metro Detroit! The website pics are completely accurate—the house was extremely clean and smelled like fresh pine! The heat worked really well. The three rolls of toilet paper, roll of paper towel, and single garbage bag provided were enough for four people for a three night stay. There is a Dollar General within ten minutes. Meijer within 15 for any major items needed. There was plenty of firewood provided even with us having a fire going daily. There was a lot more down by the fire pit at the river, too. Loved the pull out couch that made a great comfy space for family games. I was nervous about the water smell based on another review (and am generally not a fan of well-water), but there was no smell at all! Plenty of hot water. Washer and dryer worked well. I did bring a little white noise machine for sleeping. Bring some dish soap. Hot plate worked great. We enjoyed the Alibi and Four Friars for dinners, Sozo for coffee, and had fun at the local bowling alley. Lots of wildlife to be seen. Enjoyed looking at animal tracks in the snow. The lack of window covering at night made this city girl a little uneasy at first, but you realize that you can’t see much when you’re outside because of the angle and height of the house. You can turn the shower glass either clear or frosted. Bring boots. 2-3 nights is perfect to get the experience. Not sure what long list of check out instructions another reviewer was referring to; we found it pretty basic. Would love to come back and see the property in the other seasons! Book this place today before word gets out!"
"The treehouse was a wonderful place to spend our honeymoon weekend! We loved the tranquility & secluded wooded area. Previous review did not like the path lights, we thought they were a great addition for night time walking. The master bedroom views are awesome! A great addition would be a pair of robes, as other luxury locations provide. Very pleasant experience…would love to return in the summer!"
"This was our 1st stay at the Winding Springs Treehouse, hopefully the 1st of many. It was so peaceful and the views were amazing. The treehouse was comfortable, clean, and adorable. Our family (2 adults and 2 teenagers) had a great time immersing ourselves in nature while also having the luxury of a cabin/treehouse w/ HVAC, WiFi, & cable when we wanted it. The washer toss game was really fun and we all loved the hammock and chair swing (and we are not small people & they held up no problem). There was more than enough firewood supplied, picnic table, card table in the house to use, appliances, etc. The fridge is compact but not mini. It was more than big enough for our needs. Dishes, utensils, dish towels, and soap provided. The provided shampoo and conditioner smelled great but definitely nowhere near enough for 3 women with lower back length hair. No worries though, we always expect this when traveling and brought our own. The shower was gorgeous and had a great view of the woods. If I absolutely had to add any criticism it would be: 1) How to use the wall HVAC units was not super clear. We figured it out, it was really only the heat function that was challenging but a user manual or instructions in the home guide would be super useful. Same for the electric fireplace in the bedroom on the main level. 2) The cable and wifi: Would have been useful to know ahead of time that we can't access movies (other than what happens to be playing). We didn't come out to watch TV but watching one scary movie together at a cabin in the woods we would have liked and could have brought a DVD player ourselves. Also, there is wifi but it's not great. Only 3 of the 4 of us could use it at a time and streaming anything was not possible. Again we didn't come out to sit around on our phones so not really a problem just useful to know. 3) I was fine with it but the well water does have a slight Sulphur smell. It's really only noticeable when you shower & even then it's not bad. I grew up with well water so it didn't bother me but it may bother someone else. 5) The spiral staircase is super cool, however the edges you walk past to get into the living room area need to be padded. It was obvious from the start that you needed to be careful to avoid bashing your head on it but of course one of us managed to do it anyway. Just food for thought, not a serious issue. 6) Maybe curtains or window coverings in the bedrooms so you can sleep past sunrise. However, the view from the main level bedroom is breathtaking. We loved it and plan to book another stay soon."
