"I am incredibly disappointed in the services provided by total handyman. Brian said he could install vinyl plank flooring for us, he would remove the trim and place the flooring under the trim because “it looks better under the trim” (a direct quote from him), level out a few areas that were low, and remove 2 sections of hardwood flooring, and clean up an area that had been previously removed. Work began and trim was pulled and the floor leveling was applied. After a bit I asked Brian if he intended to level the remaining area, as it was obvious there was still a low spot. He said “oh I didn’t know you wanted all of it level.” So I said it’s fine I’ll go grab another bag of floor leveling and did and they applied it. Fast forward and there is still a section of hardwood remaining, to which I asked was that going to be removed and he said “I didn’t know you wanted that removed too.” The area we wanted cleaned up was hardly cleaned up. Brian attempted to remove the hardwood from that area and told us “yeah we can’t tear this up anymore cause we don’t want to possibly hurt the bathroom tile” and gave us no suggestions on how to fix it. All it took was an oscillating saw to cut the wood close to the tile. We currently have flooring buckling in over 5 different areas, all of the trim was NOT reinstalled, walls were left filthy from handprints, sections of walls had been gouged out from careless trim removal, transition pieces were not installed anywhere, and caulk was applied in only a few areas. I would NOT recommend him and his services to anyone at all. Best part too is I was entering my house after working outside and heard him or one of his employees say “this guy is F’ing stupid for not removing his subfloor and replacing that.” Brian saw a younger couple and took full advantage of us with incredibly subpar services. I have taken other steps to ensure that he does not receive customers as well. Please do not make the same mistake we did."
"Shawn did a great job installing a cabinet in my laundry room! As well as shelving for my pantry. Will definitely be calling him again!"
"Brian owner agreed to give me a quote on a large water claim. Quote was acceptable and was ready to move forward. Right before starting the job, he sends me a text saying he needs 1/2 down to start.... I explained I don't do business that way and reputable companies and contractors don't do business that way either. He proceeded to get very snarky and belittling. I'm guessing I probably dodged a bullet considering I conceded to offer enough money for materials but that wasn't good enough for him and backed out at the last minute. Thanks for nothing Brian, no integrity!!!"
"Prompt to provide service . . . . but the service leaves a lot to be desired. We had a property that we need to complete remodeling due to a pending move and contacted Total to see if they could help. They arrived, quoted the work and it sounded acceptable so we agreed to start the following day. Several jobs were included in the work. The installed cabinets in the kitchen but did not think about which way they went so half the doors opened in the wrong direction and no spacer was used along the wall so that door did not open correctly. He put in a double vanity and failed to test it so when we ran water, the tailpiece leaked and it turned out the marble top (which was still in the box when he arrived) had been dropped - had they tested the water, they woudl have seen the problem. The cherry on top was the installation of plumbing to the shower on the second floor. They failed to check the pipes with water as we found out after all the drywall was put in and the paint applied. The people that bought the house took a shower and the shower connection flooded the kitchen. That cost close to $1000 to take everything apart to find one PEX fitting that was loose and had been installed by Total. When we called, we got excuses and accusations that it was the fault of others that had worked on the house. In summary, the work was completed but the quality and ownership was poor and cost us a good deal to get a dependable contractor in to repair what was done incorrectly. Lesson we have learned over the years and failed to apply here . . . if you call someone that says they can do it all and can be right over, keep calling . . . . the one that is booked is who you want."
"My new go to when I need a General Contractor! We had a two car garage that was badly leaning and needed a new roof. I had multiple contractors come and give me their thoughts on repairing or tearing down. Brian was by far the most knowledgeable about the job. He took the time to explain what needed to be done, how he would do it, and how long it would take. He did exactly what he said. His crew cleaned up everything behind themselves and were completely about their business while on site."
