Reviews of Stratford Crossings
"I have lived here for 2.5 years and would absolutely not recommend living here (read the second paragraph to see why). The rent is expensive for what you get. The appliances are outdated and the apartments are fully carpeted with bad-quality beige carpet. The countertops are bad quality and the plumbing has significant issues. In my whole building (and a few others whose residents I have talked to) you can't fully turn on the tap or the showers because there is a terrible water hammer effect that resonates throughout the whole building causing this loud banging sound everyone can hear. I live in a non-smoking building and at least 2 of the other people in this building think the rules don't apply to them so they just smoke on their balcony or out front so I get to smell that on the way in. All of those things pale in comparison with the actual reason I am giving 1 star and recommend against living here. Shortly after I signed a lease renewal for another year here my upstairs neighbor moved out and someone new moved in. I noticed increased sounds above me but brushed it off and thought maybe they were just moving in and arranging the furniture. The extreme creaking and banging continued for another month before I reached out to the leasing office to let them know the noise from upstairs was very loud, often late at night or early in the morning, and I was not able to sleep because it kept me up so much. They assured me they took care of it and let the resident know to quiet down. Well now almost 6 months later the situation has escalated to lunacy. The kids upstairs constantly sprint up and down the hallway right above me which makes a loud banging noise and the creaking remains. It took 4 months and several conversations for them to finally admit that before this resident moved in they replaced the floor with new plank flooring. Undoubtedly the flooring was installed improperly or cheaply causing the constant creaking. I've had countless conversations with the leasing office and the leasing manager to no avail. The constant stomping remains and sometimes drives me to leave my apartment or sleep at a friend's house because of how loud it is. Management has been of no use. I've emailed, called, and spoken to them in person. Basically, the last conversation I had ended with "he's really trying". All this to say they have no obligation to uphold the peace and they don't try very hard to make things right. I will say the maintenance staff is phenomenal and always fixes issues promptly and they're so helpful. Shoutout to the maintenance staff!"
"I would not recommend renting here. There are a lot of vehicle break ins and I got my vehicle stolen back in January. They don't have security cameras on the property, so you never know what is going on until it actually happens. I left a voicemail to coporate about possibly investing in security cameras on the property, and they never called me back. I told the maintenance guy about the problems we had when he last fixed our garbage disposal, and he told me not to worry about it and more then likely it was going to get replaced after we moved out. Little did I know, I should of submitted online for the stuff to get fixed because after moving out they charged $$$ for it! Def. Not worth the money to rent here."
"I wanted to like it here but have had alot of issues with my unit shortly after moving in. Maintenance was quick in repairing those issues though so I'm grateful for that. However neighbors constantly blast music like no ones business when people are trying to sleep in our building. You can literally hear everything that goes on so if you're a light sleeper or have kids who are light sleepers, I would not recommend this complex. Leasing office ladies are super nice and helpful though and they do work with you however like I said, some neighbors can/will be obnoxious and not care about having courtesy for anyone else."
"DO NOT RENT HERE! I lived here for a year! The leasing office attendants are only nice when you’re interested in renting, don’t ever plan on leaving because they will up your charges on everything. I didn’t receive my security deposit for a year, still haven’t. The lady attempted to tell me that I owed 600+ for being five days late when I informed them I would not be continuing my lease. FIVE DAYS! The apartments themselves are not good quality for the prices. Since they’ve decided to withhold my money, as well as telling me I owe them, I have now considered legal action against them. I know I am not the only one to have had experience this with them. If you have please reach out, a few have already been brought to my attention. These people are trying to take advantage of use, and we can’t allow this to continue."
"This apartment complex is not worth the money. I moved in about 2 years ago because I needed a place to move into fast and they had a vacancy. The apartments themselves are very average, definitely not worth the $1000/month they were charging me. The "gym" is small and barely has room to move and, when the pool was open, the hours were not conducive to allow individuals who work a regular 9-5 job to use it. There were times when I requested maintenance or pest control and it would be about a week before they would get someone to come out and, even then, they couldn't even give you an estimate as to when the maintenance worker would be coming to your unit. I understand not being able to give an exact time, but an estimate would be nice, especially with people working from home and having work meetings, they don't need to be interrupted by maintenance just showing up with no notice. I found out in September 2021 that my rent was going up 30% to $1,300, which is absolutely ridiculous for the area we live in. I have friends who live in Washington DC in similar styles of apartments and their rent isn't even that much! And if you want to have half of a garage, not a full garage, its another $100 each month. It was cheaper for me to buy a house than it was to continue to rent at Stratford. There was absolutely no support or information given for the move out process. I actually had to call the leasing office the weekend I was moving out to figure out what to do. I deep cleaned the entire apartment because I am NOT going to get stuck with whatever bogus cleaning fees they try to stick me with. The carpet wasn't new when I moved in (documented stains in the living room) and the entire building smelled of cigarettes. I would definitely never recommend Stratford Crossings as a place to live for anyone."
