"Edit: I have 2 reasons that I have come to update my review: Wendy and the maintenance team. Wendy and the maintenance team are always happy to help. I’ve lived in a couple apartments and this maintenance team is the best so far! What I do not appreciate is the gaslighting in the comment. I am very fortunate to work from home 1-2 days a week. It has not always been like this. For the days I was not able to work from home, I would try to get in touch by calling and no one would answer my calls. I had to call from an unknown number so y’all would pick up the phone. I don’t think that it’s unreasonable if I’m paying for something, I want it to be right. I have been very disappointed with my experience. I would not recommend this building to anyone! Once you become a resident, the team does not answer your phone calls. There is a lack of security concern for residents, the office hours are absolutely horrible. How are residents supposed to talk to someone in the leasing office when they are open when most people are at work and gone when most people come back (8:30 - 4:30 Mon - Fri). Also, the front doors are a huge concern in general. Anyone can walk into the vestibule. I have had to step over homeless people inside the apartment building to get to work - unacceptable!! Now, I can’t even get into my apartment building through the 2nd set of doors. You now have to walk in an alley to get inside the building. They do not even have security cameras in the alley! Properly management sent me amazon links to a knife and a security keychain when I brought up this concern and said hope this makes you feel better. Are you serious??? Worst apartment ever"

"I don’t normally comment but I’m at my wits end. I don’t know how else to get management’s attention. Like others in these comments, I have also found the Athlon to be non-responsive and unethical in their business practices. Very similar to another commenter, I moved out in June and was sent to collections when my online portal said I owed zero. I was an excellent tenant who always paid on time. There were no letters or emails sent to notify me of this balance. It was only after I received the letter from collections that they informed me of the balance on my account. They still owe me my security deposit back as I paid everything in full to collections. I moved out in Jun and it’s now Feb and I still haven’t received anything. I have sent repeated emails and calls with no response. I spoke with an attorney who also tried to reach out and get a resolution. At this point, I have no choice but to take the issue higher. I hate this because I actually loved living there. This experience makes the two years I enjoyed living there worthless. My advice is go elsewhere if you’re looking for somewhere to live downtown. The recently renovated building and nice fitness amenities aren’t worth the hassle of not receiving your deposit at move out or worse being sent to collections."

"I love it here!!! The Property Manager went out of her way to help me with an very personal incident that occurred to me, and I can’t give enough gratitude. Everyone that works there is also awesome, I made some really good friends being there and can’t imagine living anywhere else."

"We lived here for a year. The pros: An indoor swimming pool The cons : Calling the manager always goes to voicemail, and even after 3 calls and emails through the portal you won’t get a call back. Why ? “I didn’t think it was important enough to respond “ Repeated maintenance issues: garage ceiling falling on cars and after 2 months no attempt to fix it. We had 3 days with no heat twice and no accommodations for it The front door electronic lock very often doesn’t allow time enough to open the door. Added charges for keys and parking passes. Summary: There is no reason to rent here unless you want an indoor pool. There are many other options, so save yourself continuous headaches and rent somewhere else."

"There are no shortage of “wow” moments at the Athlon. First off, the renovation of the former CAC building into apartments is stunning. I remember walking by this building ten years ago when it was abandoned and genuinely wished for someone to put in the time, effort, and love that it deserved. And that happened! The apartments are brand new with all the features you expect like shaker cabinets, stainless appliances and washers and dryers. Secondly, it’s gives me the chills sometimes when I walk into the historic amenities such as the pool, walking track and resident lounge which was one the banquet room. I actually knew Frank Gibson before he passed in 2018, and he operated the coffee shop which was on the 11th floor. Just last week I was talking to someone who also knew him and they told me that they often think of his “thumbs up” and genuine heart felt conversations. People like Frank are what made/make that building so special. Thirdly, the team there is genuinely the best. It’s a busy office, yet they do their best to respond to resident requests and questions in a timely manner. The maintenance team is knowledgeable, the housekeepers also attend to the pool daily. And it shows! If your considering this place you should! It’s such a magical place very deserving of being called “home”"
