Reviews
"Just to preface this review, they will most likely delete it (hence why you don't see many negative reviews on here). And, the staff incentivizes their potential and brand new residents to leave a 5 star review - which is most likely the majority of the positive reviews on here. I think it's also important to note I've never written a bad review but this one is deff necessary. I would not recommend living here to anyone and highly discourage it. I've lived here for over 3 years now and have finally had enough and ended my lease. The main issue is management. Our current unit resides above the riser room, which causes our entire apartment to shake and vibrate. It rattles things in our bedroom to our living room and is impossible to sleep, work or even live comfortably due to incessant vibrations, loud noises and constant fire alarms coming from below us. We've sent in numerous noise complaints and dozens of emails proposing solutions asking for help with this issue. At first, they completely ignored us and closed all complaints. When they finally started responding, they told us we were wrong and lying (maintenance agreed with us about the issue and notified management as well). When they could no longer keep up the façade, they told us there was nothing they could do about it and provided absolutely no resolution other than to move out. Before this issue, was flooding. Our unit we were in before this had flooding, leaving us unable to use our back door. Their only solution was to switch apartments. During this transfer of apartments, they charged us hundreds of dollars of fees that they could not explain and when asked to explain, Mary yelled at us calling us horrible names. These are only two small instances of what we've dealt with from management here. If you have a dog, do not live here!! It is not dog friendly. Management threatened to “remove” or evict my dog because of occasional barking. I had a furbo and camera proving he was not barking but they did not listen or care. We had no issues or complaints with him barking for years until new people moved in next to us. Management also told us the people who were complaining about our dog barking were taking pictures and videos of us from outside our apartment windows. We then had to install a camera and black out curtains in all windows and rooms because we felt so unsafe. Management did everything they could to make us feel unsafe and unwelcome. Many other residents also run into this issue, getting many noise complaints about their dogs occasionally barking – do not live here if you have a dog. It is a pretty apartment complex and maintenance (specifically Taylor - he is amazing and always does everything in his power to fix any issues) has always tried to help us when an issue arises but at the end of the day, their hands are tied due to managements unwillingness to do their job. A few other things to be aware of – you will have constant missing/stolen packages due to the set-up of the mailroom and management will hold your packages in the leasing office for days and weeks at a time without informing you, they will try their best not to honor any leasing promotions they promised when you toured/applied, and if you ever have even the slightest issue management will do their best to ignore you and make you feel unwelcomed in this community."
"Loved my tour so much with Kirsten! She was on top of everything with all her information and having my toddler with me.. she made the tour informative, easy, and really excited to move! My son loves the community and all they offer!"
"Hayley was fantastic to work with! She was very professional and accommodating, and showed immense knowledge about the community and its amenities. I definitely recommend working with her if you are interested in a place at Manhattan on the River!"
"We loved our time at The Manhattan on the River! The apartment was nice and new, the pool was great, and best of all- our dog had so many friends. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Would happily live here again if ever in the area."
"Great place to live and a fun community. You can’t beat my spot right on the River. Hayley and Kirsten are very helpful in directing maintenance requests."
