Reviews of Campus View
"They just stole my amazon package today and obviously the manager (Jeremy) was super helpful when he said "sorry I can't do nothing about it...", so if you can't help us why are you even there? It's affordable but not safe, not worth it... when you need maintenance tho Hank is pretty good!"
"If only 0 stars were an option...this apartment complex is terribly managed and terribly maintained. During this winter's ice/snowfall they did not salt the roads at all - a lot of people were trapped because their cars were stuck and as a result trash trucks were not able to empty the overflowing dumpsters. Apart from that, calls to maintenance often result in them promising to "call you back" only to be ghosted indefinitely. There were also some suspiciously-high water bills on certain months (literally a 4x increase) despite us not seeming to consume any more than usual that month."
"From my three years of living here it has been a complete joke from the start. When I first moved in I was concerned by the reviews, and mentioned them when I was signing the lease. They stated that they weren't true and they 100% are. Since I've lived here, I've had large problems with mold, bugs, a window that almost caved in due to their contractors that they barely fixed. Recently my AC completely went out as well as my garbage disposal for my sink which 14 days later was giving a window unit sealed by blue masking tape. This has caused bugs to come in and water to come in especially when it storms. Due to the college being so close, they believe they can keep up with the little upkeep of the apartments and justify the price they're charging but it is not worth it whatsoever. The only upside is most neighbors mind their own business and stick to yourself but depending on the unit you're in it can result in parties which end up in throw up being on the floor for days without being cleaned up. I moved here from out of state, and if I had known better I would not have moved here. I'd highly suggest looking into any other place before even considering moving to these apartments."
"Absolutely avoid this apartment complex at all costs. It might seem cheap in comparison to other buildings around, but you ultimately will be paying the price. AC: Our air conditioning never worked. It was looked at once and we were told "we'll probably need to order a part, or something" and then never again. We got 1 window AC unit that had to be running constantly to keep it below 75 degrees. It was sealed with masking tape, so of course it let all kinds of bugs in. Heating: In the winter, our apartment never got above 70 degrees which made the heat run constantly just to not be freezing. Our electric bill averaged $140 a month because of this despite the heat barely even working. Electrical Issues: We moved in missing half the lightbulbs to our very specific lighting fixtures that we could not replace ourselves. Within a month of moving in, our smoke detector that hadn't been replaced in a decade literally blew up in my roommate's face as we were trying to test it because it wasn't working. For about a month, the electrical in both bedrooms would just randomly short out and flicker and we had to just repeatedly beat the electrical box just to get the lights to work. Water: Our water bill was nearly $80 a month for two people who do not use an abnormal amount of water. You can't even take long showers because the hot water lasts 20 minutes max, so it is a true mystery where an $80 bill came from. Parking: Parking is absolutely terrible. Whether it be trying to find a parking spot, or trying to pull out of one because of how many people have to park in makeshift spots, it is horrible. In the winter the lots barely get plowed or salted, and when it does the cars get barricaded with snow. There are no pros to living in this apartment complex. The walls are paper thin to the point we could hear all of our surrounding neighbors TVs. You can hear people talking through the bathroom vents. If you get stuck with genuine loud neighbors it is absolutely miserable. The apartment itself is dingy and outdated. I have absolutely no idea how they justify charging $850 in rent for such an outdated and amenity-less complex--especially when the pool you pay for hasn't been filled in years. You might get lucky with a semi updated unit, but we got stuck with stained carpet, cracked tile, missing tile, barely functioning lights, and horrible neighbors. PLEASE save yourself the trouble and find a different complex. These issues are not just specific to me. There are several units per building that had window AC units during the summer, and I'm sure many experienced similar issues. My roommate and I were miserable being stuck here for a year. Do yourself a favor and cross this complex off your list."
"The worst apartment complex. In the almost 2 years we’ve lived here our air has never worked right and has completely went out at least 5 times. Things that have also broken: stove, shower head, peeling paint on tub, fridge died completely, kitchen sink leak, toilet leak, and more. Instead of fixing the potholes in the driveway, they paved one strip down the middle of the drive and left the parking spaces in touches. Looks bad and is ineffective at fixing the issue. The pool was closed most of this summer, another amenity we haven’t been able to use. The leasing and maintenance people are very nice, but MGI is ineffective in the ownership of the buildings."
