"Future Renters beware. Current residents, it’s too late for us: I’ve lived in the Prairies at Wright Field for over 2 years now and I’ve seen families come and go. From a personal experience, living here has been wonderful; minus the fact once you retire from the service, they treat you like a new person and give you a civilian rate which was ~$450 more a month than what I was paying the prior months for the same house! However, my experience has been forever stained by the unnecessary stress caused with the numerous dreaded move-out inspections I’ve seen for my close friends and fellow service men and women. When I first arrived here in 2021, it became very clear that the final out inspections were a high stressor for families because of the misguidance between the final out pre-inspection/feedback and the actual final out inspection (even after you get a detailed check list and told everything looks good during your pre-final out inspection). I guess it's very dependent on the mood of the inspector of the day. One charge that is not fair and a shady way to conduct business is the “carpet pull test”. The fact the housing office inspector literally rips (pulls?) the carpet up in front of you to check for stains during the final out inspection is absurd (yes I’ve read this is in their policy when doing a final out inspection) If they are going to do this, great, BUT they need to have a picture of it ripped up before your move in OR when you are doing your pre-inspection on the house, HAVE THEM RIP EACH CARPET up in every room and you take your own pictures of the before conditions. This is a way they steal money from us because who knows what the condition of the underneath carpets/mats are when moving in..Unless you live in a house that looks like Dexter’s kill rooms, expect to pay for your carpets moving out. Housing- during a pre-move in inspection allow future tenants to pull all the carpets up and use a black light to get a baseline of what they're signing for. Current residence, set aside close to $1000 to be safe. Housing, please correct this and make final out inspections less stressful for people serving this country. Until I see a change, I will not be referring friends to live in THE PROPERTIES AT WRIGHT FIELD. And I don't need your auto generated sorry for your experience...and to better assist me blah blah just fix the problem. I provided a solution. Edit• A year has passed and there has still been no solution and people are still getting charged unnecessarily. Sounds like they give you the generic feedback response and do absolutely nothing to fix it such as shame."
"Hopefully your house doesn't flood, especially on multiple occasions because they won't pick up the phone because it's not an emergency unless someone is dead. They also don't clean out air and dryer vents when you move in even though they claim they do which is an extreme fire hazard. Worst housing I've ever seen, it's a disgrace to military families. Fyi they also include the garage towards your square footage even though it isn't livable space so your square footage is much smaller than you think."
"I don’t put my real name in social media. But whoever is reading this I just want you to know WPAB Housing is one of the best place to live at and raise your family. Please don’t listen to the negative reviews or the pictures that people post. Cause at the end of the day you need to live it on your own. My family has been living in the Woods for four years and never had any complaints. If anything everyone that works for Housing they make a way to accommodate you and the family. Also the Maintenance people are like family, but I do have to say they are knowledgeable when they fix thing's in the house so I truly believe they are doing a swell job. Even those that upgraded housing they also did an amazing job, It took hard work and strength and dedication. So God bless you all for doing a fine job. Today we were very blessed by receiving a called to see an upgraded house and I had such an amazing experience with Ann. She has been working for WPAB Housing don’t know how many years. The fact that she is so dedicated when it comes to her job and I could tell the love she has for her job when it comes about dealing with people on everyday basis. Anyways I really enjoy speaking to Ms. Ann and explaining to her about my family circumstances when it comes about my special needs Adult/Child. As she was listening to us with our situation she was very caring and she understood. My husband and I were very please with her. If I was a millionaire i would definitely give her a big bonus. Cause good workers that are dedicated are hard to find and we want to make sure we keep this employers in the company. I felt so comfortable with her. I also know theirs good workers working WPAFB Housing no one stays behind. We need to offer this employees more for what they do, cause they are needed and they are essential to the company. Our Lord Jesus Christ is so good and we give him the Glory all the way. When we first moved here Jesus Christ assigned us to this young lady name Gabriella and she was also another one who love her job, but then I find out she left so I was sad. This is why we need to keep our good workers that have been on the job for I don’t know many years. Please anyone that is reading this don’t allowed yourself to be deceived by one or few negative comments. People now and days are too rotten and spoil that everything has to be perfect when there is no such thing as perfection only our Creator who is God is perfect."
"It pains me to leave a 1 star review. For the most part we had a pleasant experience with staff & maintenance in the 3 years we lived there. However, trying to leave is a whole different experience. I specifically asked the leasing office how old our carpet was & was made to believe it could be at least 5 years old. The paperwork referenced during the conversation was our lease agreement inspection. The carpet is listed as “Good” not “new”. On the legal paperwork it is not listed as “new”. There was a year in-between family’s residing there so the assumption made it was installed for the previous family. Our pre-inspection and Final inspection were only 2 days apart. Jeff facilitated both. My husband asked what we needed to do for the carpets. He said they looked good & just vacuum them really well. I had already hired a cleaning company to do a move out clean. They cleaned the carpets as part of it. Just 48 hours after Jeff made it seem like we were going to breeze through final inspection he came with pliers and ripped the carpets up. Claimed they were installed only 20 days before we moved in. They don’t care there is a discrepancy in the paperwork. They don’t care that the inspector had a split personality & didn’t prepare us in the least bit. They want us to replace the carpet at new rates."
"Be aware they charge you for stains under the carpet too. Firs picture is a stain that only shows up once they ripped up the carpet (standard practice after checking everything with a black light, make sure you rinse off thoroughly any leftover soap and anything else that'll reflect black light) that cost me prorated $265.45. Other than that frustration the house was fine for four years. It's definitely showing it's age in the kitchen."
